Jabil is seeking a supervisory leader to direct and review activities of Packout Operators, QC Inspectors, and OBA Inspectors across the weekend shift to ensure the needs of internal and external customers are met.

You will recruit and hire QC, Packout, and OBA staff, develop training curriculums, set measurable goals, monitor performance, and drive continuous improvement while following safety and security policies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 5-6 years of related experience.
• Previous supervisory experience required.
• Training in IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and other industry standards.

Job Summary

Direct, coordinate, and review all activities of Packout Operators, Quality Control (QC) Inspectors, and Out of Box Audit (OBA) Inspectors to ensure the needs of internal and external customers are being met.

Leadership and Management Responsibilities

Recruitment and Retention

Recruit, interview, and hire Quality Control (QC), Packout, and Out of Box Audit (OBA) resources. Communicate candidate criteria for QC, Packout, and OBA positions to recruiters. Monitor team member turnover, identify key areas for improvement, and implement appropriate improvements.

Employee and Team Development

Identify individual and team strengths and development needs on an ongoing basis. Create and/or validate training curriculum within the area of responsibility.

Performance Management

Establish clear, measurable goals and objectives to evaluate individual and team results, including operational metrics, project timelines, training documentation, attendance records, knowledge of operational roles and responsibilities, and personal development goals. Solicit ongoing feedback from Line Managers, Quality Engineers, Workcell Managers, peers, and team members regarding individual contributions to the team. Provide ongoing coaching and counseling to team members based on feedback. Express pride in staff and encourage team members to recognize their accomplishments. Complete team member evaluations professionally and on time. Drive continuous improvement in key operational metrics and support achievement of organizational goals. Coordinate team activities and maintain focus during periods of high demand or operational challenges. Ensure recognition and rewards are managed fairly and consistently within the area of responsibility.

Communication

Provide a communication forum for the exchange of ideas and information within the department. Organize verbal and written communications clearly and use an appropriate business style. Ask questions and encourage input from staff. Assess the communication styles of individual team members and adapt communication accordingly.

Technical Management Responsibilities

Create appropriate QC, Packout, and OBA shift coverage schedules to ensure effective utilization of resources while considering employees' best interests. Participate in On Time Delivery (OTD) meetings in accordance with current Jabil structure. Train and evaluate various customer requirements to ensure QC, Packout, and OBA functions operate effectively and efficiently. Provide appropriate training to OBA personnel based on industry specifications, standards, and customer requirements to ensure OBA effectively represents the perspective of the external customer. Provide appropriate training to QC personnel based on industry specifications, standards, and customer requirements to minimize escapes to the customer. Backfill the role of a Packout Operator, QC Inspector, or OBA Auditor when needed. Run OMI, DPM, and other quality reports and analyze data to identify gaps in Jabil processes related to customer requirements. Monitor Jabil process health by performing periodic process audits with support from OBA Auditors. Coordinate 5S audits with OBA staff. Conduct periodic personnel performance reviews and related documentation. Monitor departmental work output. Provide support related to inspection questions and issues. Maintain a positive attitude and promote active involvement of all personnel in their daily responsibilities. Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with the position and as directed by the supervisor. Comply with and follow all procedures within the company security policy.

Directly manage employees, including responsibilities related to hiring, termination and/or pay decisions, and performance management.
