Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent required; engineering/business preferred.
  • Knowledge of automotive quality requirements with broad manufacturing experience.
  • Supervisory skills in problem solving, prioritizing, personnel relations and decision making.
  • Familiar with ISO/QS 9000 and QA practices and programs.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise lead auditors and contract help as needed.
  • Oversee material review and corrective action processes.
  • Conduct supplier surveys, audits, and approvals.
  • Direct liaison with supplier base and audit activities.
  • Develop monthly reports on inspection and audit performance.
  • Interpret quality guidelines and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Support production leads in applying set standards and procedures.
  • Maintain knowledge of production components and related applications.

Quality Supervisor | Landisville, PA

Regular Employee | Salary Non-Exempt | $75,000.00 - 85,000.00

What you'll do:

SUMMARY:
The Quality Supervisor position is responsible for overall product assurance program related to Quality in support of Production Operations, Supplier Quality, Material Review and Quality Program Conformance. Responsibilities include all aspects of managing resources for product lines, ensuring suppliers complies with contract quality requirements, promote continuous improvement of product quality through resolution of supplier and/or production discrepancy causes

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Position is responsible to supervise Lead Auditors, with the potential for several auditors reporting to each Lead Auditor, and supervisory responsibilities include contract help
  • Material Review and Corrective Action
  • Supplier Surveys Audits and ongoing evaluation approvals
  • Direct liaison with supplier base
  • Direct audit activities commensurate to production schedules
  • Establish priorities and ensure maximum usage of assigned resources
  • Develop monthly reports showing inspection and audit performance and improvement opportunities
  • Evaluate and recommend alternative auditing procedures for continuous improvement
  • Support production leads and operators for interpretation and methods following set standards
  • Maintain working production component's knowledge and associate next tier application
  • Conduct meetings regularly with inspection and audit team to help consistency in teamwork
  • Involve in team driven actions to help improvements
  • Interpret and support quality policies and implement guidelines to ensure compliance with quality standards and documents
  • Ability to conceptualize complex principles and effects of change to support daily endeavors and understanding and solving problems
  • Able to process information mentally to respond as required during supplier meetings or customer meetings or at presentations
What you need to be successful:
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate degree or equivalent broad work experience to demonstrate full capability is required (Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business preferred)
  • Knowledge and understanding of automotive quality requirements with broad manufacturing experience
  • Supervisory skills in the areas of problem solving, prioritizing, personnel relations and decision making
  • Overall knowledge of manufacturing of products related to the production line such as; fabrications, castings, forging, precision machined components, stampings, etc.
  • Experience with the elements of ISO/QS 9000 and good commercial QA practices and programs such as; SQA, QE, dimension inspection, production quality control
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and the relationship to quality improvement
  • Clear understanding of quality system tools and standards
  • Strong and consistent attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to stay on task
  • Team oriented
  • Versatile, flexible, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Commitment to excellence and high standards
  • Sound judgment with the ability to make timely decisions
