Job summary

AtWork Personnel is seeking a 3rd Shift Quality Supervisor to ensure products and processes meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. You will investigate complaints, guide the floor on troubleshooting, train staff, and monitor SQF compliance.

The role requires 3–5 years in Quality Systems, GMP/CFR 117 experience, and knowledge of ERP systems. You will work with production and QA teams to minimize food safety hazards and maintain the Quality Manual.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in science; Food Science/Biology preferred.
• Minimum 3–5 years of related experience in Quality Systems.
• GMP & CFR 117 experience required.
• GFSI audits experience preferred.
• ERP knowledge (NetSuite, Oracle, JDE, SAP) helpful.
• Familiarity with organic, kosher, gluten-free regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise Quality staff, including training, planning, and performance reviews.
• Assist in developing product specifications and quality objectives.
• Coordinate quality objectives with production and warehouse.
• Collaborate with production managers to maximize efficiency.
• Direct inspection and testing to ensure control over materials and products.
• Investigate customer quality and food safety complaints and prepare reports.
• Maintain the Quality Manual and oversee preventive controls.
• Maintain training records for the site.
• Prepare sample submission packages and oversee testing programs.
• Troubleshoot on the production floor to minimize hazards.
• Prepare deviation or OOS reports and manage material release.
• Issue SOPs and BPPs with guidance from Senior Quality Manager.
• Conduct accident investigations and draft incident reports.
• Oversee plant sanitation and monitor SQF Plan updates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

3rd Shift Quaity Supervisor

Position Summary

Responsible for ensuring that products and processes meet quality standards and regulatory requirements. Conduct complaint and nonconformance investigations and help the production floor with troubleshooting efforts that minimize food safety hazards. Monitors and reviews investigation findings to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies. Trains direct reports and maintains quality control objectives. May investigate and handle more complex complaints. Assists with audits as requested.

Job Responsibilities

Essential job duties and responsibilities include the following; however, other duties may be assigned based on the needs of the business.

• Supervises Quality staff. Responsibilities may encompass training, planning, assigning and directing work, performance appraisals, time and attendance bi-weekly review, disciplinaries and problem solving among other supervisory duties.
• Assist in developing product, ingredient and component specifications to document current standards and propose quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
• Propose and maintain quality control objectives and coordinate the same with production, warehouse and other departments.
• Cooperate with other production managers and department managers to maximize efficiency.
• Direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
• Investigate customer complaints regarding quality and food safety and prepare reports.
• Ensures Quality Manual is maintained.
• Institute and oversee preventive controls.
• Maintains, along with other Quality Supervisor, record of Training forms for the site.
• Prepare sample submission packages for testing.
• Oversee the sampling, retention and testing program.
• Troubleshoot on production floor to eliminate food safety hazards.
• Eliminate/minimize deviations from specifications and prepare deviation or OOS reports.
• Responsible for material release.
• With guidance from the Senior Quality Manager, issues written and oral instructions in the form of BPP or SOPs.
• Conduct accident investigations and draft incident reports.
• Oversee plant sanitation.
• Monitor the SQF Plan and update as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in science. Food Science, Biology or similar backgrounds preferred.
• Minimum 3- 5 years of related experience in Quality Systems required.
• Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) & CFR 117 required.
• Experience with GFSI audits is strongly preferred.
• Some knowledge of ERP Systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, JDE, or SAP is preferred but not required.
• Experience or familiarity with organic, kosher, gluten-free regulations preferred.

Skill Requirements & Certifications:

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Knowledge of Excel and Word required.
• Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) plant safety and OSHA requirements.
• Ability to read, speak and write in English.
• Proven success with working in a team environment.
• May work additional overtime, including weekends.

Salary Range

Starting salary is dependent on factors such as work experience, education, location, skill sets, market demand, and company budget.

($27.00 - $30.00 DOE, non-exempt)
