Job summary

INW Living Ecology, NV is seeking a Quality Supervisor to lead the Quality staff, develop specifications, and ensure food safety and GMP compliance. You will coordinate with production and other departments to meet quality objectives and manage testing, reporting, and corrective actions.

Ideal candidates have a 3–5 year background in Quality Systems, experience with GMP/CFR 117, and familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite/Oracle/JDE/SAP).

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in science (Food Science, Biology or similar preferred).
  • Minimum 3–5 years of related Quality Systems experience.
  • Experience with GMP & CFR 117 required.
  • GFSI audits experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (NetSuite/Oracle/JDE/SAP) desired.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Quality staff and oversee training, planning, assignments, and performance reviews.
  • Develop product, ingredient, and component specifications; document standards and reliability.
  • Coordinate quality objectives with production, warehouse and other departments.
  • Lead inspections, testing, and deviation/OOS reporting; manage material release.
  • Investigate customer quality and food safety complaints; maintain the Quality Manual.
  • Oversee preventive controls and SQF plan; support plant sanitation and safety.

Job description

Essential job duties and responsibilities include the following; however, other duties may be assigned based on the needs of the business.

  • Supervises Quality staff. Responsibilities may encompass training, planning, assigning and directing work, performance appraisals, time and attendance bi-weekly review, disciplinaries and problem solving among other supervisory duties.
  • Assist in developing product, ingredient and component specifications to document current standards and propose quality and reliability expectancy of finished product.
  • Propose and maintain quality control objectives and coordinate the same with production, warehouse and other departments.
  • Cooperate with other production managers and department managers to maximize efficiency.
  • Direct workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure continuous control over materials, facilities, and products.
  • Investigate customer complaints regarding quality and food safety and prepare reports.
  • Ensures Quality Manual is maintained.
  • Institute and oversee preventive controls.
  • Maintains, along with other Quality Supervisor, record of Training forms for the site.
  • Prepare sample submission packages for testing.
  • Oversee the sampling, retention and testing program.
  • Troubleshoot on production floor to eliminate food safety hazards.
  • Eliminate/minimize deviations from specifications and prepare deviation or OOS reports.
  • Responsible for material release.
  • With guidance from the Senior Quality Manager, issues written and oral instructions in the form of BPP or SOPs.
  • Conduct accident investigations and draft incident reports.
  • Oversee plant sanitation.
  • Monitor the SQF Plan and update as directed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or associate degree in science: Food Science, Biology or similar backgrounds preferred.
  • Minimum 3- 5 years of related experience in Quality Systems required.
  • Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) & CFR 117 required.
  • Experience with GFSI audits is strongly preferred.
  • Some knowledge of ERP Systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, JDE, or SAP is preferred but not required.
  • Experience or familiarity with organic, kosher, gluten-free regulations preferred.

Skill Requirements & Certifications:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of Excel and Word required.
  • Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) plant safety and OSHA requirements.
  • Ability to read, speak and write in English.
  • Proven success with working in a team environment.

Salary Range

Starting salary is dependent on factors such as work experience, education, location, skill sets, market demand, and company budget.

($27.00 - $30.00 DOE, 3rd shift differential applies, eligible for 7.5% Quarterly Bonus if applicable)
