Job summary

Job description

Job Purpose

The Quality Supervisor is responsible for implementing and executing the Kraft Heinz Quality Chain Management System at the plant level, including distribution and local storage sites. The role controls all products and processes in the plant through strict adherence to policies, specifications, and standards, and utilizes methods, tools, and procedures to deliver zero defects from incoming raw materials to outgoing finished goods within a food‑safe environment. The supervisor ensures facility personnel are properly resourced and trained, leads continuous improvement of conformance quality using L6S tools, and handles significant managerial responsibilities such as hiring, talent development, and budget management.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Implement and assure compliance with all food safety, regulatory, and quality policies.
  • Lead implementation of the Kraft Heinz Quality Risk Management Program (QRMP) and associated policies at plant.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable food safety regulations including USDA, FDA, and local authorities.
  • Lead and maintain robust food safety programs (QRMP, HACCP, sanitation, pest control, GMP, traceability).
  • Ensure implementation of and compliance with sanitation policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, customer, and third‑party audits including FSSC 22000.
  • Review quality management system metrics with the plant leadership team and BU Quality monthly.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation to support compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Oversee plant quality labs to ensure all methods, equipment, and measurements meet gauge reliability and repeatability standards.
  • Develop standard work through documentation and training to standards.
  • Handle customer complaints and ensure timely investigation and resolution.
  • Drive team member engagement through strong leadership, career development, and conflict management.
  • Prepare for and participate in internal and external quality audits, ensuring all corrective and preventive action timelines are adhered to.
  • Oversee monitoring and record keeping for CCPs, OPrPs, and all mandated quality checks, testing, sampling, and sanitation activities.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with operations, maintenance, and supply chain teams to uphold quality standards.
Expected Experience & Required Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, microbiology, or related field.
  • 5‑10 years of QA experience in food manufacturing, including leadership.
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with factory peer teams and hourly associates.
  • Experience with CQE.
  • Knowledge of food safety and USDA regulatory requirements.
  • Fundamental statistics (DMAIC, DFSS, Lean, metrology, MSA, sampling procedures).
  • HACCP, PCQI, and FSSC 22000 certifications.
  • Strong knowledge of GMPs and sanitation, including sanitary design and pest control.
  • Experience developing quality knowledge for all plant employees; coaching, guidance, and role modeling quality standards.
Work Environment & Schedule

Manufacturing plant environment with heavy machinery and equipment. Shifts, weekends, and overtime are required as needed.

Physical Requirements

Frequent activity or conditions sustained 1/3 to 2/3 of working hours; upright stance, keyboard or text input; sedentary—occasionally exerting 0–10 lbs. of force, limited movement from workstation for brief periods of time.

Compensation

New Hire Base Salary Range: $77,800.00 – $97,300.00. Eligible for a performance‑based bonus as per plan terms.
