Position Overview
As a Quality Inspector, you will primarily be responsible for inspections and tests related to specific scopes of work such as concrete and civil work. You will perform other duties as directed by your supervisor to meet project quality requirements. Responsibilities
- Address client concerns and observations regarding quality.
- Communicate openly and honestly with client representatives about work quality.
- Understand project scope and quality requirements specific to your responsibility area.
- Review and understand the Project Quality Plan and related documents.
- Identify detailed quality requirements per contract specifications, codes, and standards.
- Determine inspection and testing frequency.
- Coordinate with operations to schedule inspections and tests.
- Perform inspections and tests as scheduled.
- Ensure inspections and tests are performed by others when required.
- Maintain inspection/test reports and quality documentation.
- Verify compliance with contract documents, codes, and standards.
- Interpret codes and standards to assess work compliance.
- Communicate test results clearly to the project team.
- Organize and store quality documents per procedures.
- Report and verify correction of nonconforming work.
- Perform source and receiving inspections of materials.
- Build strong working relationships with team members.
- Participate in and contribute to task planning meetings.
Additional Responsibilities
- Inspect field conditions, identify problems, and suggest cost-saving measures.
- Inspect subordinate work for compliance, address deficiencies, and explain reasons.
- Evaluate suggestions, complaints, and safety concerns, then plan corrective actions.
- Observe installed equipment for hazards and necessary adjustments.
- Identify safety hazards and take corrective actions.
- Respond appropriately to safety warnings and signals.
- Work productively and safely, following instructions and policies.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years' experience in quality or inspection roles.
- Self-motivated, organized, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of relevant trade, inspection, and testing techniques.
- Familiarity with construction industry codes related to your discipline.
- Certifications from AWS, ACI, ICBO, ASNT, NACE, API, etc., may be required.
