Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company seeks a Principal Quality Specialist to join the Newington, NH quality team. You will report to the QA Manager and work 100% onsite, pursuing a degree in a related field if applicable.

The role emphasizes contract/code compliance, supplier surveillance, and internal audits to uphold ASME, NQA-1, ISO-9001-2015, AWS, and ASTM standards. Responsibilities include reviewing procurement docs, managing non-conforming material records, and driving process improvements

Qualifications

  • HS diploma required; Bachelor's degree or pursuing a degree applicable to QA role preferred.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing QA experience.
  • Dimensional inspection skills or prior qualifications in non-destructive testing with potential to pursue Level III.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure contract and code requirements are maintained throughout manufacture (ASME, NQA-1, ISO-9001-2015, AWS, ASTM).
  • Develop and implement surveillance program for supplier activities.
  • Provide quality surveillance of supplier activities and coordinate supplier inspections.
  • Review procurement documents (Purchase Requisitions; Job related Materials and Services, and Calibration).
  • Provide support for control of purchased items and services (Purchase Orders, CMTRs, GRS).
  • Produce and approve non-conforming material documentation (QNs and SDCRs).
  • Develop and comply with instructions and procedures (Technical Procedures, Suppliers Submittals).
  • Review process documentation (Heat Treat Charts, in-house and OSV).
  • Help with ASME Code reconciliation and resolve contractual conflicts regarding procurement.
  • Conduct internal audits and provide process improvement in QME area.
  • Coordinate with project engineering to determine customer/regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate non-conforming products for acceptance and organize inspection efforts for NDT and dimensional inspection.
  • Create and revise technical procedures; compile lifetime records for archival and end-user.

About the role:

As a Principal Quality Specialist, you will become a member of the Newington quality team. You are pursuing a Bachelor's Degree program applicable to the position or equivalent.

You will report to the Quality Assurance Manager and be located at Newington, NH. You will support this role 100% onsite.

There is no relocation assistance for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide quality oversight at vendors and other Westinghouse sites

  • Determine quality metrics which support continuous improvement
Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • Bachelor's Degree or pursuing a degree program applicable to the position preferred.
  • 2+ years of manufacturing QA experience
  • Dimensional inspection skills or previous qualifications in non-destructive testing with potential to pursue Level III qualifications.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $90,000 to $112,500 per year.
