Job summary

Westinghouse Electric Company is seeking a Quality Engineer for the Westinghouse Parts Business (WPB) to join the Quality Assurance team at the New Stanton, PA facility. You will ensure compliance with the Quality Management System, contract requirements, standards, and regulatory codes, reporting to the WPB Sr.

Quality Manager. Responsibilities include supporting QA programs, reviewing orders for conformance, writing corrective actions, and assisting during audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical or quality discipline.
• 1+ year of experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering.
• Understanding of ISO, Lean Six Sigma for quality in nuclear industry, ASME B&PV Code, ANSI/ASME NQA-1 and Appendices, ANSI N45.2 and daughter standards, IEEE Standards, and NRC Regulatory Guides.
• Knowledge of quality assurance concepts and principles.
• Experience in regulated/nuclear industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support site QA program: calibration, training, documentation, self-assessment, corrective actions, and continuous improvement.
• Help implement QA plans/programs per NRC and company standards for nuclear and non-nuclear facilities.
• Review inspection lots, sales orders, and project orders to create Certificates of Conformance/QA data packages.
• Ensure project orders include contractual and QA requirements in planning and execution documents.
• Implement policies on scope/retention of QA documentation.
• Write corrective action reports and coordinate with organizations to resolve issues.
• Assist QA personnel during internal or external quality audits.
• Process Quality Notifications for internal non-conformances.

About the role:

As a Quality Engineer with the Westinghouse Parts Business (WPB), you will act as a member of the Quality Assurance team to ensure compliance with Westinghouse's Quality Management System, customer contract requirements, industry and regulatory codes, standards, specifications, and requirements.

You will report to the WPB Sr. Quality Manager and will be based out of our New Stanton, PA facility.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support various aspects of the site QA program including calibration, training, document preparation, self-assessment, corrective action program, and continuous improvement projects as assigned.
• Support implementation of business unit and departmental QA plans/programs according to current U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Westinghouse, customer, and other QA standards for nuclear and non-nuclear facilities.
• Review inspection lot files and customer sales orders and project orders to create Certificate of Conformance and/or Quality Assurance Data Packages for outgoing products.
• Review project orders ensuring contractual and Westinghouse quality program requirements are incorporated into project planning and execution documents.
• Implement policies on scope and retention requirements of quality assurance documentation.
• Write corrective actions reports and work with functional organizations to resolve issues to ensure programmatic compliance.
• Assist higher level QA personnel during internal or external quality audits.
• Process Quality Notifications for internal inspection non-conformances as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, technical or quality discipline
• 1+ year of experience or commensurate experience in Quality Assurance / Quality Engineering
• Understanding of external standards such as International Organization for Standardization (ISO), Lean Six Sigma for quality in nuclear industry field, ASME B&PV Code, ANSI/ASME NQA-1 and Appendices, ANSI N45.2 and the daughter standards, IEEE Standards, and U.S. NRC Regulatory Guide series.
• Knowledge of quality assurance concepts and principles.
• An understanding of commercial nuclear industry or other regulated industry preferred.

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be $58,400.00 to $73,000.00 per year.
