Job summary

Furst-McNess Company in Live Oak, FL is seeking a full-time Quality & Safety Technician to support safety, quality, and environmental standards across facilities. The role includes inspections, sampling, recordkeeping, and assisting training and continuous improvement efforts to maintain compliant, efficient operations.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 2+ years in safety/quality in industrial settings, and knowledge of OSHA/FDA/FSMA; PCQI certification is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; safety/quality training preferred.
• 2+ years in safety, quality, compliance, or similar manufacturing roles.
• Experience as Safety/EHS/QA-QC/Compliance Technician is a plus.
• Knowledge of OSHA, FDA, FSMA preferred.
• PCQI certification preferred.
• English reading/writing/speaking required.
• Strong attention to detail and procedural documentation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and office software.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine safety, quality, and facility inspections.
• Observe daily practices and reinforce safe behaviors.
• Assist in incident investigations and corrective action tracking.
• Collect, label, and test samples per procedures.
• Review production and compliance docs for accuracy and traceability.
• Support environmental inspections and waste verification.
• Assist with safety, quality, and training SOP delivery.
• Maintain records for audits and compliance programs.
• Participate in internal audits and inspections.
• Assist with inventory control and regulated materials documentation.
• Travel between facilities as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
