Job summary

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a Quality and Safety Outcomes Coordinator (QSOC), an entry-level role supporting performance improvement and safety initiatives across the organization. You will collect, monitor, and analyze data to drive improvement projects aligning with our vision to lead in caring, healing, teaching, and discovering.

Under the Quality and Safety Manager, you will support accreditation, data—driven decision making, and local, regional, and national safety

Qualifications

• High School Graduate
• Bachelor's Degree Arts, Science, Nursing or equivalent; RN license in KS/MO if appropriate
• 2+ years of experience in the healthcare industry

Responsibilities

• Supports performance improvement initiatives to maintain accreditation and safety programs
• Interacts professionally to identify safety risks and opportunities for improvement
• Supports data collection, validation, analysis and timely submission of metrics
• Uses incident reports and databases to monitor performance and develop improvement recommendations
• Applies safety science, PDCA cycles and A3 problem solving in projects
• Facilitates small interdisciplinary improvement groups to meet goals
• Participates in safety education offerings and meetings
• Educates staff on risks of healthcare delivery and reporting hazardous conditions
• Completes special projects as assigned
• Performs competencies of the assigned unit or department
