Advanced Personnel Resources is seeking a Quality Safety Manager to lead our client's quality and workplace safety programs in a manufacturing setting.   • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in quality assurance, quality control, safety, or a related manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems and ISO standards (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety compliance requirements.
  • Experience with APQP, PPAP, SPC, First Article Inspection, corrective action, and root cause analysis.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work with employees at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, improve, and oversee the facility’s Quality Management System and related documentation.
  • Serve as the plant’s management representative for applicable quality management standards and certification requirements.
  • Coordinate and document management review meetings and report quality system performance to senior management.
  • Plan, direct, and oversee internal quality audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Establish and monitor quality objectives, metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications, applicable standards, and internal quality requirements.
  • Oversee testing, source inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection activities.
  • Manage nonconforming materials disposition and corrective actions.
  • Coordinate cross-functional actions to address quality and safety issues.
  • Develop and deliver safety training and maintain safety records.

Job description

Advanced Personnel Resources is seeking a Quality Safety Manager for a new opportunity with our client here in the Triad. The Quality Safety Manager is responsible for leading and maintaining the organization’s quality management and workplace safety programs within a manufacturing environment. This position provides leadership in quality assurance, quality control, regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and employee safety. The Quality Safety Manager also serves as a key resource to management and employees, ensuring that products meet customer and applicable quality requirements while maintaining a safe and compliant workplace. This role has the authority to identify and address quality and safety issues and works collaboratively with all departments to drive corrective action and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain, improve, and oversee the facility’s Quality Management System and related documentation.
  • Serve as the plant’s management representative for applicable quality management standards and certification requirements.
  • Coordinate and document management review meetings and report quality system performance to senior management.
  • Plan, direct, and oversee internal quality audits and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
  • Establish and monitor quality objectives, metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure products meet customer specifications, applicable standards, and internal quality requirements.
  • Oversee testing, source inspection, in-process inspection, and final inspection activities.
  • Manage the identification, segregation, and disposition of nonconforming materials and products.
  • Oversee internal and external corrective and preventive action processes and ensure timely completion.
  • Respond to customer complaints and coordinate effective resolution of quality issues.
  • Ensure appropriate collection, retention, control, and maintenance of quality records and documentation.
  • Participate in APQP activities, including new product and process feasibility reviews related to quality and manufacturability.
  • Ensure First Article Inspections, PPAP submissions, and other pre-production qualifications are completed according to customer requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and champion statistical process control (SPC) and other quality improvement methodologies.
  • Promote root cause analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
  • Maintain independent authority and access to management to address and resolve quality system issues.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain workplace safety programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with OSHA and other applicable health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify workplace hazards.
  • Coordinate corrective actions to address identified safety risks and prevent recurrence.
  • Develop and deliver employee safety training, including emergency response, PPE, safe work practices, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Investigate workplace incidents and accidents, document findings, and implement appropriate preventive measures.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and regulatory documentation.
  • Partner with department managers and supervisors to integrate safe work practices into daily operations.
  • Promote employee engagement, safety awareness, and a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Provide direct supervision and leadership to quality and safety personnel, including Quality Supervisors, Quality Inspectors, and other assigned staff.
  • Direct temporary employees and other personnel assigned to quality- or safety-related activities.
  • Establish performance expectations, provide coaching and development, and support employee accountability.
  • Collaborate with department managers, supervisors, and employees to ensure customer, quality, and safety requirements are consistently followed.
  • Serve as a cross-functional leader in resolving quality, safety, and process-related issues.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Safety Management, Manufacturing, or a related field; equivalent education and experience may be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in quality assurance, quality control, safety, or a related manufacturing environment.
