Job summary

A motor vehicle manufacturer is looking for a Quality Liaison to provide quality assurance support and communicate with manufacturing and engineering personnel. You will be responsible for collecting warranty returns, reviewing scrap parts, monitoring inventory, and assisting with troubleshooting. The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of experience in a quality role, a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, and strong communication skills in English and Spanish. This temporary position requires good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in a Quality role or similar position.
• Experience in customer relations and data analysis.
• Good understanding of automotive processes.

The Quality Liaison role is to provide quality assurance support, direct contact with customer Manufacturing, Quality and Engineering personnel who are affected / involved / with the use of Nemak products and services. This role is temporary/contract.

Main Responsibilities

• Collect warranty returns (QEC)
• Review daily scrap/on-hold parts at customer’s plants
• Communicate issues to casting plant and help mitigate financial impact
• Complete a daily scrap report with detail including traceability information
• Take photos of defects/parts and send to plants
• Monitor/report leak test equipment FTT and scrap rate performance (as applicable)
• Monitor/report daily, weekly and monthly inventory including WIP, FG and RAW (as applicable)
• Follow control batches, tests, special parts through the machining line
• Help troubleshoot casting issues
• Help perform sorting/containment when required
• Participate on quality calls when requested
• Generate reports and participate on teams as requested
• Provide suggestions on continuous improvement initiatives regularly to reduce defects

Position Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering preferred; Associates Preferred
• English written and verbal communication skills
• Spanish communication skills an asset
• 2 years Min. in a Quality role or similar position with experience in customer relations, containment activities coordination and data analysis.
• Automotive Engineering knowledge and experience preferred
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
• Customer communication and interface
