Job summary

KLN Family Brands is seeking a Quality & Regulatory Intern for the summer of 2027 at our Perham, MN facility. College juniors and seniors pursuing Food Science, Food Safety, or related fields will collaborate with operations, engineering, quality, and regulatory teams to support daily product quality goals.

You will gain hands-on experience in cross-functional problem solving, learn about our safety and quality standards, and contribute to new product development projects in the confectionary

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Food Science, Food Safety, or a related field.
• Commitment to 10–12 weeks in Summer 2027.
• Ability to work on-site at our Perham, MN facility and collaborate in a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to production operations and address issues as they arise.
• Develop an understanding of cross-functional and interdepartmental problem-solving.
• Investigate and resolve product quality issues as needed.
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams while ensuring product quality standards are maintained.
• Develop POKA training content.

We’re looking for a Quality & Regulatory Intern for the summer of 2027 that is serious about a career in food manufacturing, specifically within the confectionary industry. The Opportunity

As a Quality & Regulatory Intern, you’ll work closely with our operations, engineering, quality, and regulatory teams.

Daily Duties And Responsibilities

• Provide support to production operations and address issues as they arise
• Develop an understanding of cross-functional and interdepartmental problem-solving
• Investigate and resolve product quality issues as needed
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams while ensuring product quality standards are maintained
• Develop POKA training content

What You’ll Need to Be Successful at KLN Family Brands/Kenny’s Candy & Confections:

• At least a Junior in college pursuing a degree in Food Science, Food Safety, or a related field
• The ability to dedicate 10-12 weeks to the internship program for the summer of 2027
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• The ability to work in a team atmosphere and be a great co-worker
• The ability to work on-site at our Perham, MN facility for the summer

Compensation

The starting hourly rate of pay is $17.94 and will be a percentage of industry standards based on typical full-time starting salaries, and will depend on your year in school and timeline to graduation.
