Job summary

KLN Family Brands/Kenny’s Candy & Confections in Perham, MN invites college juniors and seniors to join our Quality & Regulatory Internship for summer 2027. You’ll work with operations, engineering, quality, and regulatory teams to support production, investigate quality issues, and help develop training content.

Compensation starts at $17.94 per hour and internships run 10–12 weeks on-site at our Perham facility.

We’re looking for a Quality & Regulatory Intern for the summer of 2027 that is serious about a career in food manufacturing, specifically within the confectionary industry. The Opportunity

As a Quality & Regulatory Intern, you’ll work closely with our operations, engineering, quality, and regulatory teams.

Daily Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide support to production operations and address issues as they arise
• Develop an understanding of cross-functional and interdepartmental problem-solving
• Investigate and resolve product quality issues as needed
• Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams while ensuring product quality standards are maintained
• Develop POKA training content
• Contribute to the development and implementation of the quality process for new fruit extrusion products

What You’ll Need to Be Successful at KLN Family Brands/Kenny’s Candy & Confections:

• At least a Junior in college pursuing a degree in Food Science, Food Safety, or a related field
• The ability to dedicate 10-12 weeks to the internship program for the summer of 2027
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
• The ability to work in a team atmosphere and be a great co-worker
• The ability to work on-site at our Perham, MN facility for the summer

Compensation

The starting hourly rate of pay is $17.94 and will be a percentage of industry standards based on typical full-time starting salaries, and will depend on your year in school and timeline to graduation.
