Job summary

Allan Aircraft Supply Co. LLC is seeking a Quality Assurance Receiving Inspector in North Hollywood, CA. You will inspect incoming materials and components for conformance to purchase orders, drawings, and QA procedures while reviewing C of C and certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect incoming materials, components, and products to ensure conformance with PO, drawings, specs, and QMS.
  • Review and verify C of C, material certifications, and inspection reports.
  • Ensure traceability documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Identify missing or discrepant documentation and coordinate resolution with suppliers and QA.
  • Perform basic receiving inspections using drawings, tolerances, and measuring tools.
  • Record inspection results and maintain auditable quality records.
  • Ensure proper identification and traceability throughout receiving and inspection.
  • Determine acceptance, rejection, or quarantine based on requirements.
  • Support nonconforming material and supplier-related quality issue resolution.
  • Maintain compliance with aerospace standards and internal procedures.

Quality Assurance Receiving Inspector

As an AS9100D certified company, Allan Aircraft requires all employees to conform to AS9100D clauses specific to their departmental responsibilities. For a more departmental breakdown of these responsibilities, please see form AAH-1.1.

Location: North Hollywood, CA

Reports To: Assistant Quality Assurance Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, hourly

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect incoming materials, components, and products to ensure conformance with purchase orders, engineering drawings, specifications, and quality-system requirements.
  • Review and verify Certificates of Conformance (C of C), material certifications, special-process certifications, inspection reports, and other required supplier documentation.
  • Ensure all incoming materials and components have complete and accurate traceability documentation in accordance with customer and aerospace requirements.
  • Identify and document missing, incomplete, or discrepant documentation and coordinate resolution with suppliers, Purchasing, and Quality personnel.
  • Perform basic receiving inspections using engineering drawings, tolerances, and measuring tools to verify part identity and identify potential quality concerns.
  • Record inspection and receiving results accurately and maintain organized, auditable quality records.
  • Ensure received materials and components are properly identified, labeled, and traceable throughout the receiving and inspection process.
  • Determine whether incoming items should be accepted, rejected, or placed in quarantine based on inspection and documentation requirements.
  • Support the identification and resolution of nonconforming materials and supplier-related quality issues.
  • Maintain compliance with applicable aerospace quality standards, internal procedures, and customer requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Competencies, Experience, and Education
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret Quality Assurance Workflows, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and customers.
  • Ability to apply metric and conversion mathematical concepts. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

  • Associate’s Degree (preferred, but not required) from a two-year college and/or completed courses related to Quality Assurance or a minimum of four (4) years of experience in a senior quality assurance role in an aerospace environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements and Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
