Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Quality Process Engineer to sustain high manufacturing standards by ensuring process compliance and driving a Zero Defect culture. You will partner with cross-functional teams to stabilize production flows and eliminate non-conformances.

You will lead structured problem-solving (8D, DMAIC, root-cause analysis), ensure CAPA effectiveness, deploy Built-In Quality practices, and collaborate with Sourcing, Manufacturing, Engineering and Logistics to improve end-to-end quality.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Quality or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years in Manufacturing Quality for HS diploma path.
  • Experience with Zero Defect, Lean, Six Sigma, or Built‑In Quality frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage internal manufacturing and process quality, ensuring compliance with specifications and requirements.
  • Lead structured problem‑solving activities (8D, DMAIC, root cause analysis) for process‑driven defects and CAPA effectiveness.
  • Deploy Zero Defect and Built‑In Quality principles across the manufacturing cell; standardize quality systems.

Job Description Summary

The Quality Process Engineer is responsible for maintaining high manufacturing standards by ensuring process compliance and driving a "Zero Defect" culture. You will partner with cross‑functional teams to stabilize production flows, eliminate non‑conformance, and implement robust error‑proofing solutions to ensure long‑term product quality.

Key Responsibilities
Quality Management
  • Own and manage internal manufacturing and process quality, ensuring compliance with specifications and requirements.
  • Drive containment actions for non‑conforming materials to prevent disruption to manufacturing operations.
  • Partner with manufacturing teams to protect production flow and reduce quality escapes.
Problem Solving & Corrective Action
  • Lead structured problem‑solving activities (8D, DMAIC, root cause analysis) for internal process‑driven defects.
  • Ensure timely implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Drive systemic fixes to prevent recurrence and reduce defect rates.
Zero Defect & Built‑In Quality Deployment
  • Deploy Zero Defect framework principles within the manufacturing cell.
  • Implement Built‑In Quality (BIQ) practices, focusing on prevention, error‑proofing (Poka‑Yoke), and process capability.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally to standardize quality systems and best practices.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with Sourcing, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Logistics teams to improve end‑to‑end quality.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with 1‑2 years of experience in Manufacturing Quality.
  • High School Diploma / GED with 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Quality.

2nd Shift hours are 3PM‑11PM EST

Desired Characteristics
  • Experience with Zero Defect, Lean, Six Sigma, or Built‑In Quality frameworks.
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Six Sigma certification (Green/Black Belt).
  • Experience in manufacturing environments (industrial, energy, aerospace, automotive).
  • Strong data analysis and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
  • Generator assembly, disassembly, or overhaul experience.

Compensation

Pay range: $76,300 – $114,400 per year, with geographic differential applicable. Discretionary annual bonus eligibility.
