Job summary

GE Vernova is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to define and control production processes, tooling, and equipment on site in Bangor, Maine. You will develop manufacturing methods to meet safety, delivery, quality, and cost goals while aligning with Lean initiatives and NPI support.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering (or 4+ years in manufacturing/ops) and the ability to work 2nd shift. Eligible for discretionary bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package are offered.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or 4+ years manufacturing/operations experience.
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA and able to work 100% onsite in Bangor, ME.
  • Experience with Lean manufacturing and NC programming is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specs and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing methods to support SQDC priorities (safety, quality, delivery, cost).
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline.
  • Understand key business drivers and how your work integrates with other teams.
  • Propose solutions beyond set parameters with guidance; use internal sources to arrive at decisions.
  • Participate in monthly Lean Kaizen events to support the Lean Roadmap.
  • Support New Product Introduction and CNC processes.

What impact you’ll make

The Manufacturing Engineer (ME) is accountable for the quality of their own work. The ME is subject to direct operations supervision/prescribed work instructions/systems checking and executes within a well-defined operations framework. There is generally a step by step sequence of standard operational tasks which need to be followed to achieve an end result.

What you’ll do
  • Define and control production process including tooling and equipment. Validate design specifications and shop floor application of new product, tools, or equipment.
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing methods to support the safety, delivery, delivery, cost (SQDC) priorities.
  • Develop in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline.
  • Understand key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal and time management skills.
  • Regular participation in monthly Lean Kaizen events to support the Lean Roadmap.
  • Support New Product Introduction.
  • Support CNC processes.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university (or a high school diploma/GED with at least 4 years of manufacturing or operations experience).
Eligibility Requirements
  • Must be authorized to work in the USA without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Must be able to work 100% onsite in Bangor, Maine.
  • Must be willing and able to work 2nd shift (330PM - 2AM).

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $68,500.00 and $102,800.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.

Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
