Job summary

SYSTEM West Virginia University Health System is seeking an executive to lead the hospital's quality and patient safety efforts. The Vice President will partner with medical staff, nursing leadership, and operational leaders to advance high reliability and clinical excellence across the system.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 7–10 years of healthcare leadership experience, with preferred advanced degrees or credentials in quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in a health-related field.
• 7–10 years of progressive healthcare leadership experience.
• Experience in hospital quality, patient safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Experience leading multidisciplinary quality improvement initiatives.
• Experience working with physicians, nursing leaders, and executives.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for hospital quality and patient safety strategy.
• Establish culture of safety, transparency, and continuous improvement.
• Lead quality, safety, regulatory readiness, accreditation, and reporting.
• Translate system strategy into local execution and ensure readiness for surveys.
• Oversee development and monitoring of corrective action plans.
