Job summary

ADM in Kentucky seeks an experienced microbiology technician to perform quality analyses on raw materials, finished goods, and contract manufactured items. You will support production in quality decisions, investigate non-conforming product, document rejections/deviations, and keep Micro Lab supplies organized.

The role requires GLP/GMP awareness, data management, and ability to work flexible hours. Background checks and strong lab skills help ensure food safety and product quality.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Food Science, Biology, or related Science field with some laboratory experience.
• Computer skills; Word, Excel, Outlook.
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures.
• Good problem solving, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Focus on Food Safety and Customer/Consumer needs in all aspects of work.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining Quality requirements.
• Encourages trust between Operations and Quality department.

Responsibilities

• Operate and understand standard laboratory equipment.
• Complete work on-time, accurately, and with Quality and Food Safety in mind.
• Complete projects as an individual or team, with or without supervision.
• Follow basic GLP, GMP, and Safety standards.
• Maintain and update data in the AS400.
• Perform equipment checks and calibrations daily or as needed.
• Learn and utilize all Micro work instructions/procedures.
• Maintain proper storage and inventory of all Micro laboratory supplies.
• Manage daily laboratory activities including sample setup, analysis, calculations, and reporting.
• Communicate issues clearly with the Micro team.
• Participate in yearly proficiency testing and monitor environmental programs.
