Job summary

American Welding & Gas, Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead the organization’s Quality Management System and ensure delivery of safe, compliant, high‑quality products. The role oversees QA, regulatory compliance, audits, CAPA, training, and continuous improvement across multiple teams.

The position is based in Beaumont, TX or Indianapolis, IN with 50–60% travel to support operations, audits, suppliers, customers, and key quality initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Science, Production, or related field.
  • Experience in quality management, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance.
  • Experience developing and maintaining a Quality Management System.
  • Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/IEC 17034.
  • Experience with audits, CAPA, root‑cause analysis, nonconformance management, and corrective actions.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to travel 50–60%.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System, including policies, procedures, records, and quality metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable federal/state/local regulations, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Lead internal, supplier, customer, regulatory, and QMS audits.
  • Manage nonconformances, CAPAs, root‑cause investigations, corrective actions, and effectiveness reviews.
  • Manage supplier qualification, approval, performance, and quality documentation.
  • Oversee customer complaints, investigations, quality agreements, and customer audits.
  • Partner with Production, Laboratories, Distribution, and Sales on quality, regulatory, change control, validation, and process improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain quality training programs and employee competency records.
  • Support Food and Medical Gas Programs and related compliance activities.
  • Analyze quality trends and lead continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen product quality, compliance, and operational performance.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.

American Welding & Gas, Inc. is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join our Specialty Gases Division. This position will be based in either the Beaumont, TX or Indianapolis, IN area and requires approximately 50–60% travel to support company operations, audits, suppliers, customers, and key quality initiatives.

Position Summary:

TheQuality Managerleads and maintains the organization’s Quality Management System (QMS) and ensures the consistent delivery of safe, compliant, and high-quality products and services.This role provides leadership across quality assurance, regulatory compliance, audits, supplier and customer quality, CAPA, training, and continuous improvement. The Quality Manager serves as the primary QMS owner and works closely with Production, Laboratory, Distribution, Sales, and other operational teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the Quality Management System, including policies, procedures, records, and quality metrics.

Key Performance Areas:

Success will be measured through product and process quality, CAPA effectiveness, customer complaints, audit performance, supplier quality, training and competency, QMS effectiveness, compliance, and measurable continuous improvement.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Quality, Engineering, Science, Production, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience in quality management, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance.
  • Experience developing and maintaining a Quality Management System.
  • Working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and ISO/IEC 17034.
  • Experience with audits, CAPA, root‑cause analysis, nonconformance management, and corrective actions.
  • Strong understanding of document control, change control, training, and quality records.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and drive accountability for quality.
  • Ability and willingness to travel 50–60%.
