Job summary

General Matter is standing up a new precision CNC manufacturing facility in Los Angeles and seeks a Quality Manager to build the quality function from the ground up. You’ll own incoming, in‑process, and final inspection, establishment of calibration systems, and the QMS, with independent authority to hold product that fails to meet spec and to design inspection plans.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in quality roles within CNC machining or precision manufacturing.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field, or equivalent hands-on QA experience.
• Experience standing up or scaling a quality function.
• Ability to perform trade studies using first principles.

Responsibilities

• Own incoming, in‑process, and final inspection plans and first-article inspection.
• Lead nonconformance disposition and drive corrective action and root-cause closure.
• Establish and maintain calibration program and measurement system integrity.
• Build and maintain QMS and document control for a new facility.
• Hire and develop Quality Engineers and QA/Inspection Technicians.
• Report quality performance and risks to Plant Manager.
