Job summary

Leggett & Platt in Grand Rapids is seeking a Quality Manager to lead the site\'s quality program and ensure customer requirements are understood and met.

You will drive a culture of quality with production, engineering, and supply chain, support new product launches, lead supplier quality initiatives, and develop a strong quality team. The role emphasizes data-driven decision making and hands-on leadership on the production floor.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of quality leadership experience in manufacturing, or 10+ years in related quality roles.
• Strong knowledge of quality systems, PPAP, root cause analysis, corrective actions, audits, statistical methods, and CI tools.
• Experience working with customers and suppliers to resolve quality concerns.
• Ability to influence across functions and leadership levels.
• Strong communication skills for presenting to customers, employees and leadership.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and business systems.
• Quality certifications such as CQE, CQA, ASQ are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the site's Quality Management System, ensuring customer requirements are understood, implemented, and met.
• Drive a culture of quality with production, engineering, supply chain, and leadership teams.
• Support new product launches through validation testing, PPAP submissions, quality documentation, and employee training.
• Lead customer and supplier quality initiatives, including issue resolution, containment, corrective actions, and performance improvement.
• Facilitate root cause investigations and corrective actions using structured problem-solving methodologies.
• Monitor quality performance metrics including customer complaints and supplier performance.
• Manage customer returns, reporting requirements, corrective action tracking, and financial reconciliation.
• Conduct internal process audits and quality system audits.
