Position Summary

As the Quality Manager for Energizer’s Global Auto Care business, you will be responsible for managing and ensuring the outstanding quality of products, providing support to Dayton Plant and product teams, and translating improvements into operations. You will sustain and enhance quality capabilities by applying Chemical Engineering, Quality principles, and tools, and by utilizing manufacturing processes, product requirements, and quality systems to prevent and resolve technical and product quality issues.

Responsibilities

1. Manage and lead quality engineers & technicians responsible for quality control.
2. Communicate product issues and changes across functions and levels.
3. Apply quality and chemical engineering principles to propose or revise processes, products, and quality systems.
4. Analyze data to identify trends and underlying issues.
5. Champion risk mitigation and change management.
6. Develop metrics and strategies to improve product quality and reduce downtime or rework.
7. Participate in teams to remove operational roadblocks and achieve cost savings.
8. Lead troubleshooting efforts to maintain compliance.
9. Participate in capital projects and provide quality feedback.
10. Update process control systems via SPC software.
11. Partner with R&D to ensure documentation accuracy.
12. Contribute to new product development to ensure quality.
13. Establish partnerships with suppliers for quality assurance.
14. Apply quality tools to identify deficiencies and root causes.
15. Lead efforts to understand and remedy customer complaints.

Minimum Requirements

• 5+ years of supervisory/management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Process Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in Chemical Engineering, chemical blending, or Supplier Quality processes.
• Experience with chemical manufacturing, control systems, and QMS.
• Financial acumen related to operations and capital projects.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• ISO Certification experience.
• SMETA 4 or Pillar experience.
• GMP Certification experience.
• Six Sigma Certification.
