Job summary

Leggett & Platt, Inc. is seeking a Quality Manager to lead QA and continuous improvement for our Work Furniture operations in Grand Rapids. This role focuses on driving defect prevention, data-driven decisions, and cross-functional collaboration to meet customer requirements.

The candidate should have 7–10 years in quality leadership, engineering or business degree, ISO/QMS familiarity, and hands-on shop floor engagement for reliable, high-quality furniture components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Business (preferred).
• 7–10 years of quality leadership in manufacturing.
• Six Sigma Green/Black Belt or Lean certification is a plus.
• Strong communicator who thrives in cross-functional environments.
• Working knowledge of ISO standards and QMS compliance.
• Hands-on with production-floor collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and improve the efficiency, output and safety of quality processes through observations and data interpretation.
• Be responsible for safety/environmental issues involving quality.
• Partner with management to implement continuous improvement projects; assist with Lean Projects.
• Support the analysis and resolution of customer complaints and drive prevention.
• Collaborate with production to ensure quality control requirements are met.
• Develop and improve process control plans, work instructions, and production standards.
• Foster a Zero-Defect quality culture and drive QA into operations.
• Coordinate with NPD to ensure prototypes and PPAP parts meet requirements.
• Available to work a flexible schedule to support production and customer needs.
