Job summary

Rotating Machinery Services Inc. (RMS) seeks a Quality Manager to lead the Quality Assurance/Control team at the Chicopee facility. You will own and improve the site’s QMS, drive CAPA, oversee audits, and ensure ISO 9001 and customer requirements are met.

This hands-on leadership role requires experience with CMMs, GD&T, and NC disposition, plus strong collaboration with shop, engineering, and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of high-precision turbomachinery components.

Qualifications

• Minimum 7 years of quality assurance/control in precision machining, aerospace, or rotating equipment.
• Leadership experience supervising a QC team and managing a Quality Management System.
• Hands-on experience with precision measurement instruments and GD&T.
• Strong background in nonconformance management, root-cause analysis, and CAPA.
• Familiarity with turbomachinery components and related standards.

Responsibilities

• Own, maintain, and continuously improve the site Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 and customer/industry standards.
• Serve as the Management Representative for quality at the Chicopee facility; coordinate internal and external quality audits and management reviews.
• Develop, issue, and maintain controlled quality documentation: work instructions, inspection plans, SOPs, and quality records.
• Establish and monitor key quality performance indicators (KPIs), report results to site leadership.
• Drive corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes with thorough root-cause analysis and effective actions.
• Manage the calibration program for all measuring and test equipment on site.
• Directly supervise the site QC team; schedule workload to support production priorities and on-time delivery.
• Provide technical direction on inspection methods, GD&T interpretation, and use of precision measurement equipment (CMM, profilometers, hardness testers).
• Oversee first article, in-process, and final inspection activities for turbomachinery components; review FAIRs and certifications.
