Job summary

Job description

Essential Key Functions And Accountabilities
  • Drive continuous improvement efforts via reduction of internal and external defect rates, including identification and clarification of quality issues, participating in problem definition & analysis, and in problem resolution.
  • Lead efforts to enforce the Quality Management System, including technical recommendations, auditing, quality planning and process development to assure system effectiveness within the site.
  • Provide input on the maintenance and continued development of our Quality certifications (ISO 9001, Customer Specific), including recertification of IATF 16949.
  • Provide monthly plant quality reviews to the senior management team with recommendations for corrective action and improvement.
  • In conjunction with Engineering, drive Advanced Quality Planning, gauge procurement and design in support of new manufacturing processes.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain specific quality plans, initiatives and continuous improvement activities, including the application of Six Sigma methodology and tools when appropriate to impact Quality KPIs (internal/external PPM, on‑time delivery, cost of poor quality, etc.) to meet site‑level goals.
  • Drive root cause analysis and permanent corrective action for customer concerns, supplier rejections, and internal rejections as appropriate.
  • Perform requested quality studies (e.g., capability, performance, etc.) to support fact‑based decisions within timeframe requirements.
  • Assure accurate and timely plant level Quality Assurance records and information reports to support management decisions.
  • Provide accurate and timely administration of customer complaints and product returns with appropriate corrective action.
  • Provide accurate and timely execution of First Piece inspection and PPAP submissions.
  • Provide accurate and timely administration of gauge calibration and maintenance.
  • Administer the process to control and disposition nonconforming material/MRB cases.
  • Work within functions of IFS ERP system to approve, maintain control plans; enter requisitions for needed goods and services; use inventory queries to assure adequate containment of shop floor and customer issues; etc.
Education Required
  • High School or GED Equivalent
  • 4 Year Technical Degree preferred but not required.
  • ASQ Membership & Certifications preferred but not required.
Experience
  • 5 Years in a Manufacturing Environment, if 4 Year Degree; 7 years in a Manufacturing Environment otherwise.
  • Travel: up to 10% and continuous for 1 week (includes visits to suppliers and customers).
  • Quality Management Systems & Auditing (ISO9001 & Internal Quality Systems, IATF 16949 preferred)
  • Inspection Techniques (Gages & Process Monitoring Systems)
