Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred; and a minimum of 10 years of relevant construction quality experience or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leading a quality program and managing quality personnel.
  • Experience managing quality programs for utility-scale solar, renewable energy, BESS, or heavy civil construction.
  • Thorough working knowledge of construction QA/QC activities and inspection processes.
  • Knowledge of applicable construction codes, standards, specifications, and quality requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel and relocate as business requires.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise Quality Inspectors and coordinate with project management to facilitate inspections, audits, and construction surveillance necessary to verify performance to codes, standards, specifications, and drawings.
  • Work with project management to staff projects with qualified inspection and test personnel as required.
  • Manage quality training programs in accordance with project procedures and monitor training effectiveness.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain applicable quality procedures to meet assigned project goals.
  • Develop and implement the project Quality Plan and verify appropriate materials, equipment, and documentation are available for inspection and testing.
  • Review and approve applicable project documents to verify quality requirements have been addressed and determine applicability of quality procedures.
  • Execute the Quality Plan and verify implementation through audits, inspections, and surveillance activities.
  • Actively interact with field operations personnel to verify civil, mechanical, electrical, and BESS quality requirements are understood and constructed in accordance with project requirements.
  • Manage processing of project documents, inspection records, and quality documentation according to applicable requirements and document control processes.
  • Administer and maintain project audit programs and quality tracking systems.
  • Manage subcontractor quality through inspection, surveillance, audits, and monitoring programs.
  • Monitor and track corrective and preventive actions.
  • Facilitate calibration control processes and verify inspection equipment requirements are maintained.
  • Audit project activities for compliance with contract specifications, quality plans, and applicable standards.
  • Work closely with construction supervisors, project managers, schedulers, and planners to support development and implementation of project Quality Plans.
  • Work with project management, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve quality concerns, non-compliant work, and project requirements.
  • Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position.
  • Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Pre-Employment Requirements:
