Position Summary
This position will provide guidance and support to the QAC department while supporting quality functions in North America.
Position Responsibilities
The incumbent is expected to perform the following functions that the company has determined are essential to this position:
- Lead and develop the corporate Process Audit team by performing the following activities:
- Achieve customer certification as an internal auditor in various Special Processes (Welding, Heat Treatment, Hot Stamping, Adhesion, and others), with the expectation of becoming the North American lead for that activity.
- Provide AISIN locations with training and certification of own in-house special process auditors.
- Support Special Process Audits at North American manufacturing locations as needed, identifying areas requiring improvement and areas of opportunity.
- Follow-up with manufacturing sites after audits to ensure that audit findings are addressed, and sustainable process improvements are implemented
- Support the implementation and further development of the North American Special Process Control system as listed in the quality management system (QMS). This includes refining the operational manual, procedures and forms associated with this process and providing training and assistance to NAP locations in their implementation efforts. Schedule and communicate “joint” activities with AISIN Japan Quality personnel.
- Develop audit criteria and process control methods for additional special processes as they are identified by management.
- Support the AISIN North American QA Center Lab staff with participation in Product Audit, Vehicle Evaluation, Failure Analysis & Testing, and Dimensional Analysis as needed. This includes managing teams responsible for:
- Material Analysis and Testing
- Measurement and Dimensional Analysis
- Product Testing & Evaluation (on and off vehicle)
- Equipment and Gauge Calibration
- Quality Skills training (measurement, GD&T, process capability, Problem Solving, etc.)
- Regularly and effectively communicate activity status and KPIs of the team.
- Work closely with the AWA-QAC staff and AISIN Group Companies to develop a “One AISIN” team attitude.
- Other tasks and duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities
Essential Skills and Experience:
- 6+ years of experience leading automotive quality organization.
- Ability to communicate and conduct manufacturing process audits with suppliers and AISIN facilities.
- Experience with Welding, Heat Treat, or Adhesion manufacturing processes preferred.
- Strong Leadership and Organizational Skills.
- Ability to manage a team to resolve complex issues.
- Ability to train and develop team members to enable relentless growth.
- Excellent level skills with MS Office Tools.
- Ability to perform statistical analysis / measurement analysis.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain complex issues so they are easily understandable.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to function well independently.
Beneficial Skills and Experience
- Knowledge of North America Special Process systems (AIAG, TMNA, other customer specific formats).
Education/Training/Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent experience.
- ASQ Certification preferred.

Travel Requirements
- Approximately 10 - 25 %.
- Must be willing and available to travel to such locations and with such frequency as is necessary and desirable to meet business needs.
