Job summary

SGB-SMIT USA is seeking a Quality Manager to lead and maintain the Quality Management System for power transformers and heavy electrical equipment. You'll oversee manufacturing QA, supplier quality, audits, and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001 and customer requirements across cross-functional teams in a global context.

This role requires analytical discipline, strong problem-solving, and the ability to operate across international teams in a dynamic energy-industry

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in quality management within power transformers or heavy electrical equipment.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality tools.
• Experience with supplier quality management and audits.
• Structured, analytical working style with strong problem-solving skills.
• Confident communication in a cross-functional, international environment.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen, and physical.
• Complete a nationwide criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Lead and maintain the Quality Management System per ISO 9001 and industry standards.
• Ensure quality assurance throughout manufacturing, testing, and final inspection of power transformers.
• Manage supplier quality, audits, and corrective action processes.
• Analyze quality data, drive root cause analysis, and implement continuous improvement measures.
• Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and utility‑specific requirements.
• Act as key quality interface for internal teams, customers, and external auditors.

• Degree in engineering, quality management, or equivalent technical qualification.
• Several years of experience in quality management within power transformers or heavy electrical equipment.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, quality tools, and industrial manufacturing processes.
• Experience with supplier quality management and audit processes.
• Structured, analytical working style with strong problem‑solving skills.
• Confident communication skills in a cross‑functional, international environment.
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screen, and physical.
• Complete a satisfactory nationwide criminal background check.
