Job summary

Adient in Northwood, OH seeks a seasoned Quality Manager to lead the Quality Department and drive adherence to IATF 16949 and ISO 9001:2015 standards. You will supervise Quality Engineers/Technicians, coordinate advanced quality planning with Engineering, and manage the quality reporting framework.

You will ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements, calibrations across gauges, and supplier quality management while fostering a safe, efficient production environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
• Experience managing a Quality Department and Quality Engineers/Technicians.

Responsibilities

• Guides and directs the Quality Department to ensure procedures meet internal and external quality expectations.
• Collaborates with Engineering on advanced quality planning for future programs and monitors special characteristics during production.
• Supervises Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians.
• Manages the complete Quality Reporting system.
• Acts as Management Representative for Quality/BOS and oversees BOS and IATF 16949 audits.

Job description

• Basic Function; Quality Manager Guides and directs the Quality Department to assure appropriate procedures are in place that will assure both internal and external customer quality expectations are achieved.
• Works with Engineering on advance quality planning on future programs and ensures that all special characteristics identified during product development are monitored using statistical techniques throughout the manufacturing process.
• Supervises and manages Quality Engineers and Quality Technicians.
• Manages complete Quality Reporting system.
• Serves as the Management Representative for Quality/BOS. Manages the internal audit schedule for BOS and IATF 16949. Administers all Quality activities as defined in the BOS and IATF 16949 standards
• Knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001:2015 standard.
• Manages supplier base for both purchased and bailed components.
• Engages in safe practices as well as follows safety rules and job rotations.
• Must be willing to report unsafe conditions, reporting unsafe acts, participating in safety/ergonomic committees, participating in safety Kaizen events, participating in blue sky initiatives, participating in safety audits, and participating in safety observation feedback events.
• Assist the plant in achieving safety goals while achieving and maintaining Safe Workplace and Environmental and Sustainability objectives.
• Ensures that facility maintains calibration on all variable and attribute gauges.
• Complete individual development plans for each member within the Quality Department.
• Establishes the criteria guideline for determining incoming inspection frequencies and ensuring that it is conducted.
• Ensures that a final product audit is conducted to the necessary instructions, frequency and auditors.
• Review daily customer scoreboards/ concerns/ other feedback in the absence of the Quality Manger or Quality Engineer
• Reviews and understands the Customer Specific Requirements.
• Responsible for assigning and maintaining designated people list to manage sample part cage.
