Job summary

Vrc Es seeks a Quality Director to lead the Quality Department across two manufacturing sites (CDA and WDN). You will plan, direct, and optimize quality systems to meet ISO9001/AS9100/ISO13485 requirements and customer satisfaction.

The role partners with plant leadership to align quality objectives with production and to drive corrective actions, internal audits, and supplier quality. Expect ~25% travel between sites and a focus on continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • ISO9001, ISO13485 and/or AS9100 quality systems knowledge.
  • SPC and statistical methods expertise.
  • Measurement systems, inspection techniques, quality tools (PFMEA, control plans, root cause analysis).
  • Demonstrated leadership across multiple sites preferred.
  • Injection molding/plastics knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • MS Office; ERP or quality systems software experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Quality Department operations across two manufacturing sites (CDA & WDN) to meet quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction objectives.

  • Lead Management Review processes and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide strategic direction and prioritize department initiatives across both facilities.
  • Oversee supplier quality together with Purchasing, including corrective actions.

Salary Range: $100,000 to $120,000 DOE USD

Position Summary

Responsible for leading, planning, organizing, directing, and controlling Quality Department operations across two manufacturing sites (CDA and WDN) to achieve or exceed company quality, compliance, and customer satisfaction objectives. This role ensures alignment of quality systems, processes, and continuous improvement initiatives across both locations.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Promote a strong safety culture through leadership by example, management of the SDS system, and reinforcement of safe work practices.
  • Lead and oversee the Internal Audit Program across both locations to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Plan, coordinate, and direct quality systems to ensure conformance with ISO9001 / AS9100 / ISO13485 and internal standards.
  • Partner with plant leadership to align quality objectives with production processes to maximize product conformance and minimize cost.
  • Direct inspection and testing activities to maintain consistent control over materials, processes, and finished products.
  • Investigate, resolve, and drive corrective actions related to customer quality concerns and complaints.
  • Serve as Management Representative for the quality management system, ensuring ongoing certification compliance.
  • Lead Management Review processes to drive accountability, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction.
  • Provide strategic direction, resources, and prioritization for department initiatives across both facilities.
  • Oversee supplier quality in partnership with Purchasing, including selection, performance monitoring, and corrective actions.
  • Develop, implement, and sustain standardized quality processes across both locations.
  • Communicate company policies, procedures, and expectations to ensure organizational alignment.
  • Lead, coach, and develop direct reports (Quality Engineers at both sites), including performance management, goal setting, and compensation recommendations.
  • Identify skills gaps and drive training and development initiatives to build team capability.
  • Support cross-functional improvement initiatives, including Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement efforts.
Knowledge, Skills & Education
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
  • Strong working knowledge of ISO9001, ISO13485 and/or AS9100 quality systems.
  • Expertise in statistical methods and statistical process control (SPC).
  • Strong knowledge of measurement systems, inspection techniques, and quality tools (e.g., PFMEA, control plans, root cause analysis).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams across multiple sites preferred.
  • Working knowledge of injection molding and plastics manufacturing processes preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); experience with ERP or quality systems software preferred.
Physical Demands
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach, and occasionally climb or balance.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 25 lbs.
  • Frequently exposed to manufacturing environments, including fumes, airborne particles, and moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Occasional exposure to outdoor conditions when traveling between facilities.
