Job summary

LifePort seeks a quality leader to develop and implement program quality plans using Six Sigma tools and Lean concepts. You will oversee QMS, manage customer programs, and monitor discrepancies across mechanical, electrical, and electro‑mechanical systems.

You will investigate root causes, drive corrective actions, and coordinate audits with customers and regulators while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and real-time quality metrics across operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Quality Management System (QMS) as the Management Representative.
  • Manage various customer programs and ensure timely completion of requirements.
  • Monitor and report on quality discrepancies for assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro‑mechanical systems.
  • Direct investigations and develop corrective actions for recurring issues.
  • Coordinate supplier quality actions and onsite audits.
  • Develop and monitor metrics for escapes, delivered quality, scrap, rework and repairs.
  • Investigate root causes and drive corrective/preventive actions using CI tools.
  • Support continuous improvement across responsible functions.
  • Maintain databases and real-time reports on goal achievement.
  • Oversee internal and external audits by customers, regulators and cert bodies.

Position Overview:

Manages the development and implementation of program quality plans, programs, and procedures using statistical quality control statistics, Lean Manufacturing concepts and Six-Sigma tools and analysis.

  • Lead the Quality Management System (QMS Management Representative)
  • Manage various customer programs, involving customer interface, monitoring and timely completion of customer requirements
  • Monitors the review, analysis and report on quality discrepancies related to assembly, process, mechanical, electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Directs investigations or problems and develops disposition and corrective actions for recurring discrepancies
  • Oversees the Quality interfaces with manufacturing, engineering, customer, vendor and subcontractor representatives to ensure requirements are met.
  • Coordinate supplier quality actions relative to products and services provided that includes onsite auditing, troubleshooting and corrective actions
  • Develop and monitor metrics relative to escapes, delivered quality, scrap, rework and repair and business operation results
  • Investigate to determine root cause, corrective and preventive action utilizing continuous improvement tools
  • Support continuous improvement processes and initiatives for functional areas of responsibility
  • Maintain databases and mine information to have real-time and accurate reports measuring goal accomplishments
  • Develop/maintain performance metrics and manage to highest efficiency (e.g., POI Dwell, NC’s, etc.)
  • Ensure Internal audit program is effective
  • Manager External audits by customers, regulatory agencies and certification bodies
Essential Functions:

Qualifications:

  • AS9100, ISO 13485, FAA, and FDA Quality Systems experience, as applicable
  • Proven FAA PMA and/or Part 21, 121, 145 Repair Station experience
  • Ability to use micrometers, calipers, gauges, fixtures, optical comparator, and hardness testers
  • Experience in driving continuous improvement processes such as through Six Sigma, Green Belt or higher certifications
  • Authority to manage personnel and processes related to administrative controls, business needs, and company goals
Education, Certifications and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • BA/BS degree in related field
  • At least six (6) years of leading quality assurance functional responsibilities and leadership experience
Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Working conditions are normal for that of a manufacturing/machine shop/office environment.
