Job summary

Gradian Thermal Solutions seeks a Quality Manager in Maple Grove, MN to lead and continuously improve our ISO 9001 certified QMS for data center cooling products. You will oversee QA/QC, CAPA, audits, and KPIs to ensure product reliability and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include driving quality strategies, coordinating cross-functional teams, and mentoring staff while advancing continuous improvement across the facility.

  • Deep knowledge of Core Quality Tools: FMEA, SPC, CAPA, PPAP, Audits.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the site’s QMS and ISO 9001 compliance.
  • Own CAPA system and drive corrective actions.
  • Coordinate internal, customer, and registrar quality audits.
  • Establish, track, and report KPIs and cost of quality.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain to improve product quality and customer satisfaction.

And throughout your career here, you will have the chance to directly shape the foundation for what's next in our industry.Position OverviewWe are seeking a Quality Manager to lead, maintain, and continuously improve our quality management system (QMS) within our ISO 9001 certified manufacturing facility which produces thermal management products (HVAC) for mission critical data centers. In this role, you will oversee all quality assurance (QA) and quality control (QC) functions specifically tailored to high-density, mission-critical data center cooling solutions.You will ensure that our liquid cooling systems, heat exchangers, and air-handling units meet stringent performance, reliability, and regulatory standards including ETL and ISO 9001.You will act as the plant’s quality subject matter expert (SME), driving improvements, CAPA, and ISO 9001:2015 compliance while coordinating with manufacturing, engineering, and supply chain to exceed customer expectations.Key ResponsibilitiesQMS Leadership & ISO 9001 ComplianceMaintain and continuously improve the facility's quality processesParticipate in all internal, customer, and third-party registrar quality audits.Formulate and maintain quality assurance objectives that complement corporate policies and goals.Interpret and communicate the organization’s quality assurance philosophy to key personnel.Establish, track, and report on organizational Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and cost of quality.Develop and execute quality strategies that improve product quality, operational performance, and customer satisfaction.Establish, monitor, and report key quality performance metrics, driving corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.Product QA & ReliabilityOversee quality standards for all products manufactured in the facility.Perform quality engineering reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements.Apply statistical process control (SPC) methods to analyze data, evaluate current processes, and assess process changes.Review quality assurance data to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures.Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities.Operations QualityEnsure product quality and customer satisfaction.Own the site’s Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) system to resolve root causes of defects.Oversee the non-conforming material control process and drive Material Review Board (MRB) actions.Keep the management team informed of significant quality issues, developments, and corrective actions being taken.Prepare and present technical and program information to the management team.Direct technical and administrative personnel engaged in quality assurance activities.Play an active role on quality management teams within the organization.Design and implement quality assurance training programs for key personnel in conjunction with managers.Perform other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related technical fieldDeep knowledge of Core Quality Tools: FMEA, SPC, CAPA, PPAP, Audits.5+ years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment.Preferred SkillsDirect experience with thermal management, HVAC, industrial fluid dynamics, or data center hardware preferred.Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor credentials preferred.ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CMQ/OE) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.Key CompetenciesSystems thinker with the ability to see connections between processes, risks, and outcomes.High level of initiative and ownership; comfortable working independently.Detail-oriented while maintaining focus on broader business objectives.Strong organizational and time management skills in a fast-paced environment.Collaborative, professional, and solutions-oriented mindset.Adaptable and resilient, with a continuous improvement mentality.Analytical, data-driven problem solving.Ability to influence without authority.Work Environment & Physical DemandsSplitting time between an office environment and the manufacturing test floor.Occasional exposure to manufacturing noise, pressure testing bays, and electrical test equipment.Travel up to 15%Benefits:Medical, vision, and dental plansShort-term and long-term disability insuranceGroup term life insurance coverageHSA, FSA, and Dependent Care plans available8 paid holidays, 4 floating holidays, and generous PTO policy401k matchingCompany paid eventsAnnual safety shoe allowanceEducation assistance programEEO Statement:Gradian Thermal Solutions is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive workplace where all individuals are treated with respect and dignity.
