Job summary

The Quality Manager will lead the Quality Management System across multiple manufacturing locations, shaping strategy and aligning with operations. You will develop metrics, drive continuous improvement, and coach a team of Quality Engineers to build a best‑in‑class quality organization.

You’ll collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams, implement ISO 9001 practices, perform audits, and manage budgets while promoting a strong safety culture in a hybrid work environment

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of quality leadership experience within manufacturing.
  • Steel or aluminum manufacturing experience required.
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, Lean Manufacturing, SPC, 8D, RCCA, APQP, and continuous‑improvement methodologies.
  • Proven experience leading quality organizations and influencing cross‑functional teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
  • Financial and business acumen with experience managing quality budgets.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Quality Management System across multiple manufacturing locations.
  • Develop and execute quality strategies that improve customer satisfaction, operational performance, and business results.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing, RCA, 8D, RCCA, SPC, and other quality tools.
  • Reduce customer PPM, warranty claims, scrap, rework, and overall Cost of Quality.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to improve processes and product quality.
  • Lead internal, customer, and supplier audits while ensuring ISO 9001 compliance.
  • Develop corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurring quality issues.
  • Establish quality metrics, KPIs, and reporting for senior leadership.
  • Support new product launches, process improvements, and cross‑functional projects.
  • Lead, coach, and develop Quality Engineers while building a best‑in‑class quality organization.
  • Manage departmental budgets and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Promote a strong safety culture while supporting Environmental, Health & Safety programs.”

A growing metals manufacturer is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead quality strategy across multiple manufacturing operations. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys improving systems, developing teams, partnering with operations, and driving a culture of continuous improvement.

This position reports directly to executive leadership and will oversee Quality Engineers and quality resources across multiple U.S. facilities. The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable developing long‑term strategy while remaining hands‑on with daily manufacturing operations.

This role is hybrid, with significant time spent at the company’s Mississippi manufacturing facility.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the Quality Management System across multiple manufacturing locations

  • Drive continuous improvement through Lean Manufacturing, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 8D, RCCA, SPC, and other quality tools
  • Reduce customer PPM, warranty claims, scrap, rework, and overall Cost of Quality
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams to improve processes and product quality
  • Lead internal, customer, and supplier audits while ensuring ISO 9001 compliance

What We’re Looking For

  • Approximately 60% travel during onboarding and training, then transitioning to approximately 30% travel
  • Travel includes visits to U.S. manufacturing facilities and occasional travel to Mexico; candidates must be comfortable with international travel
