Job summary

Truvant is seeking a Quality Control Manager to lead our QA/QC function and act as a key quality partner to our operations and a major customer with an on-site presence at our facility. If you excel in hands-on quality leadership, manage a team, resolve issues with Production, and build customer relationships, we want to meet you.

You will oversee day-to-day quality across the plant, ensure products meet requirements, and drive audit procedures, training, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years supervisory experience preferred.
  • 5+ years quality experience preferred.
  • Two years manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
  • Experience/certification in Lean Six-Sigma preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day quality function across the plant and ensure products and processes meet requirements.
  • Set up and maintain quality audit procedures for all production areas.
  • Collaborate with Production Manager to address quality issues and resolve them.
  • Maintain lab and verification equipment and report needs to Plant Manager.
  • Work with customers on quality issues, corrective actions, vendor issues, etc.
  • Supervise the quality staff on all shifts.
  • Involve with new product lines to ensure quality procedures are in place before first production runs.

We are looking for a Quality Control Manager to lead our QA/QC function and serve as a key quality partner to both our internal operations team and a major customer with an on-site presence at our facility.

What You'll Do

As the Quality Control Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day quality function across the plant and ensure our products and processes consistently meet company and customer requirements.

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Oversee and coordinate all quality procedures and policies for the plant to meet and exceed customer requirements and to set a high level of quality for Truvant that will give us a competitive edge in the industry

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all controlled documents in the plant regarding quality.
  • Responsible for setting up and maintaining quality audit procedures for all production areas that will meet or exceed customer requirements
  • Work with Production Manager and Supervisors to discuss quality issues and come to a resolution.
  • Help ensure that the production floor is a safe environment, free from hazards.
  • Maintain lab and verification equipment and report any needs to the Plant Manager.
  • Work with the customers on any quality issues, corrective actions, vendor issues, etc.
  • Supervise the quality staff on all shifts.
  • Responsible for any incoming audit requirements on raw materials.
  • Be involved with new product lines to be sure all quality procedures are in place prior to first production runs
  • Responsible for all employee evaluations of the quality clerks on all shifts
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years supervisory experience preferred
  • 5+ years quality experience preferred
  • Two years manufacturing experience.
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • Experience/certification in Lean Six-Sigma preferred.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

  • Must be familiar with Microsoft Office.
  • Must be able to use the customer systems to check for pack standards and other specification documents.
  • Must be able to operate lab equipment to perform necessary quality tests for certain production lines.
  • Ability to effectively manage personnel of varying skills and disciplinary backgrounds
  • Ability to function cooperatively and effectively in a team environment with peers and personnel in other departments
  • Ability to keep company and customer information that is discussed or viewed while under employment with Truvant confidential
  • Ability to adhere to all regulatory and company policies, procedures, work instructions including but not limited to: Truvant policies, customer specific policies, ISO, GMP’s, USDA, regulatory food safety and food defense

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be able to read documents, printouts, computer screens and other communication
  • Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers
  • Must be able to reach, touch, grasp
  • Must be able to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
  • Must be able to climb, stoop/kneel, lift, pull and push
  • Must be able to conduct yourself in a safe manner to avoid accidents while on the production floor
  • Must be able to work in various environments based on building location and products.
  • Level of Physical Requirements: Sedentary to medium work level; lifting and positioning weight loads up to 35 pounds

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 0-25% - Travel may be required to support business needs
