Job summary

Precision Turbo and Engine (PTE), a Wabtec Company, seeks a Quality leader to develop, implement, maintain, and continually improve the QMS. You will ensure ISO, regulatory, and customer requirements are met while fostering a culture of quality and operational excellence.

You will lead the Quality team, drive audits, document control, and supplier quality initiatives across a manufacturing site. Strong ISO knowledge, root-cause analysis, and continual improvement experience are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • 5–7 years in QA/QC in a manufacturing environment, preferably machining.
  • 3+ years leading ISO systems management.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance.
  • Prior supervisory/management experience.
  • Exposure to EHS and workplace safety programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for the Quality team and drive site quality initiatives.
  • Participate in strategic planning and operational reviews.
  • Support customer visits, audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • Maintain and improve the QMS in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Lead document control and records management.
  • Coordinate internal and external ISO audits and certification activities.
  • Prepare performance metrics for leadership review.
  • Submit customer documentation packages (PPAP, certifications, etc.).
  • Monitor quality KPIs: customer complaints, defect rates, cost of poor quality, scrap, and audits.
  • Lead CAPAs and first article inspection; ensure conformance to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, purchasing, and sales to improve quality.
  • Lead supplier quality initiatives and follow-up actions.
  • Manage calibration systems and inspection programs.
  • Act as Management Representative for ISO systems.
  • Ensure ongoing ISO compliance; lead audits and certifications.
  • Coordinate risk assessments and opportunity planning activities.
  • Maintain ISO documentation and records.
  • Facilitate continual improvement projects based on audits and KPI trends.
  • Train employees on ISO requirements and quality awareness.
  • Travel up to 10% as required.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Wabtec Components Division, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, maintaining, and continuously improving the organization's Quality Management System (QMS) program. This position ensures compliance with ISO standards, customer requirements, regulatory obligations, and company policies while promoting a culture of quality and operational excellence.

What do we want to know about you?
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a quality assurance or quality control role within a manufacturing environment, preferably supporting machining.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing ISO systems.
  • Experience administering regulatory compliance.
  • Prior supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Exposure to EHS management, regulatory compliance, and workplace safety programs is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 requirements and auditing techniques.
  • Ability to conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and quality-related software systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Preferred Certifications
  • Certified Quality Manager (CQM) - ASQ
  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) - ASQ
  • Certified ISO 9001 Lead Auditor
  • OSHA 30-Hour Certification
  • ISO 14001 and/or ISO 45001 Internal Auditor Certification
What will your typical day look like?
  • · Provide leadership and oversight for the Quality team while driving initiatives across the site to promote quality excellence and workplace safety.
  • · Participate in strategic planning and operational review meetings.
  • · Support customer visits, audits, and regulatory inspections.
  • · Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001 requirements.
  • · Lead document control processes, including procedures, work instructions, forms, and records.
  • · Coordinate internal and external ISO audits and certification activities.
  • · Conduct management review meetings and prepare performance metrics for leadership review.
  • · Ensure timely and accurate submission of customer documentation packages, including material certifications, dimensional inspection data, metallurgical reports, PPAP documentation, and other quality-related records as required.
  • · Monitor and analyze quality performance indicators, including:
    • o Customer complaints
    • o Internal and external defect rates
    • o Cost of poor quality
    • o Scrap and rework
    • o Audit findings
  • · Develop and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • · Direct first article inspection and ensure conformance to quality standards before authorizing continued production as defined by the control plan.
  • · Partner with operations, engineering, purchasing, and sales teams to improve product quality and process performance.
  • · Lead supplier quality initiatives and follow-up actions as necessary.
  • · Manage calibration systems and inspection programs.
  • · Act as Management Representative for ISO systems.
  • · Ensure ongoing compliance with applicable ISO standards, including:
    • o ISO 9001 Quality Management
  • · Lead certification, surveillance, and recertification audits.
  • · Coordinate risk assessments and opportunity planning activities.
  • · Maintain ISO documentation and records.
  • · Facilitate continual improvement projects based on audit findings, KPI trends, and business objectives.
  • · Train employees on ISO requirements, procedures, and quality awareness.
  • · Travel up to 10% as required to support customer visits, supplier evaluations, audits, training, and business meetings.

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between $79,100 - $112,800. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands, and work location.
