Job description

This position has a built-in succession plan, with the current Quality Manager planning to retire in approximately 2-3 years. The person hired will begin leading the quality function immediately while working alongside the current manager during the transition, giving them the opportunity to learn the operation, implement improvements, and ultimately take full ownership of the department. Note this person WILL Have the Quality Manager title right away.

The Company

Our client has been manufacturing products for more than 60 years and continues to experience significant growth. Their business consists of an established lawn and garden product line sold through many of the nation's leading retailers, along with a rapidly expanding contract manufacturing division producing powder-coated weldments for large industrial customers.

Their contract manufacturing business has grown over 4x the past few years and is making this an exciting time to join the organization.

Unlike a custom job shop, production focuses on long-term manufacturing programs with production runs typically ranging from hundreds to thousands of parts.

The manufacturing facility currently employs approximately 25 people, with this position directly managing 2-3 employees.

What They're Looking For

This is much more than someone who can maintain paperwork or manage audits. They need someone who truly understands quality from a manufacturing standpoint and takes pride in standing behind every part that leaves the facility.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working with tight tolerances and precision manufacturing.
  • A deep understanding of manufacturing quality standards and the confidence to hold those standards.
  • Experience interacting directly with customers to resolve quality concerns and build relationships.
  • ISO 9001 experience (highly preferred).
  • Leadership experience or the desire to grow into leading the quality organization.
The Vision

The company is looking for someone who can help transform the quality department over the next several years. They want a leader who can take quality from broad, generalized standards and continue building a more organized, standardized, and data-driven quality system that supports the company's rapid growth.

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys improving processes, building structure, and creating a quality culture that can scale alongside the business.
