Job summary

Indiana University Health is recruiting a Quality Manager to lead quality improvements and patient safety initiatives across the South Region. The role supervises teams, aligns with regulatory bodies, and drives measurable outcomes.

The position is hybrid with one remote day per week, supporting Bloomington, Bedford, and Paoli Hospitals. A RN license in Indiana is required, with CPHP/CPPS certification preferred and 5–7 years of related experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Active RN license in Indiana or an active NLC RN license.
  • CPHQ or CPPS certification preferred.
  • Five years of progressively more responsible experience in Quality Improvement or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and support employees in identifying, monitoring, evaluating, educating, and improving processes affecting patient care.
  • Own end-to-end quality initiatives and ensure highest ratings through measurement bodies (TJC, CMS, etc.).
  • Provide day-to-day operational leadership in quality improvement consulting and patient safety.
  • Monitor progress and drive improvements toward established goals; serve as a resource on quality data and safety culture.

Overview

Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Quality and Patient Safety leadership team in the role of Quality Manager. Responsible for managing and supporting employees in identifying, monitoring, evaluating, educating, and improving processes affecting the care of patients as evidenced by measurable and sustained outcomes. Provides day-to-day operational leadership in the functional areas of quality improvement consulting and patient safety. Manages the development and implementation of quality initiatives. Owns and oversees end to end strategies to ensure the highest rating through appropriate measurement bodies, including The Joint Commission (TJC), Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services (CMS), Anthem, ISDH and other 3rd party payors. Monitors progress and demonstrates improvements toward established goals, which may include maximizing revenues through quality scores. Serves as a resource for quality data and performance improvement, High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles, error prevention, and patient safety culture for the hospital leadership team.

This is a hybrid role with one remote day per week Monday-Friday day shift supporting Bloomington, Bedford, and Paoli Hospitals. Candidates must have previous quality experience.

Candidate Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree is required. Master's Degree is preferred.
  • Requires 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) certification preferred.
  • Five years of progressively more responsible experience in Quality Improvement or equivalent experience including those deemed to be qualified through an internal succession planning process is required.
