Job summary

TEEMA Group seeks a Quality Manager for its Beaumont, Texas facility to lead thorough analysis of steel products, assure quality, and oversee safe, efficient operations. You will manage testing equipment, maintain quality records, and coordinate with other departments to sustain production and QA standards.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in metallurgy or materials science and at least seven years of steel mill experience, with proven supervisory and people development abilities.

What you will be doing:

• Responsible for thorough, timely and accurate analysis of steel produced.
• Responsible for required quality of the product.
• Responsible for proper, efficient and effective work methods.
• Responsible for the safe and proper operation of equipment.
• Responsible for employee selection, training, evaluation and discipline.
• Responsible for carrying out company policy and programs.
• Responsible for effective control of turnover and attendance.
• Responsible for maintenance of testing equipment.
• Responsible for generating and maintaining complete and accurate quality records in conformance with the established quality assurance program.
• Cooperate with other departments to maintain coordinated efficiency of operations.
• Insure compliance customer and external agencies’ quality assurance programs in all departments as needed.
• Visit customers as required for resolving claims or development of new products.
• Direct scheduling activities of Scheduler as required.
• Responsible for assisting procurement with the approval, auditing and on-going quality follow up with vendors.
• Leads direct reports in a manner that promotes ongoing development of knowledge, skills and abilities.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you must have:

• A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in metallurgy or materials science with a minimum of 7 years of related steel mill experience.
• Knowledge in the product application area is required, along with strong interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated success with supervision and people development strongly preferred.
