Job Description:
The position of Quality Manager will provide technical and functional support related to quality for bidding and reporting activities in the corporate offices and for the Projects under design and construction in the North America region. Will assist the Quality Director in any other required quality related tasks at the corporate level.
Job Duties:
- Participate in SOQ and RFP processes for US and Canada bids, including quality write-ups and budgets, and help develop organizational charts and key personnel roles.
- Assist in overseeing the implementation of the corporate Quality Management System and ensure all US and Canada projects perform annual project-level Quality Management System reviews and perform global annual Quality Management reviews or other quality-related reports.
- Provide support for establishing, implementing and maintaining standardized Quality processes and procedures for Projects and corporate to adhere to Ferrovial policies and procedures and to contractual and regulatory requirements.
- Assist in providing training and workshops to all Quality personnel on the headquarters quality management system and reporting requirements and ensure quality reporting from all North America projects is done as expected.
- Assist projects in hiring and coordinating works with QC laboratories or IQFs and resolving issues with them, and provide support during client audits, audit certifications, or external audits.
- Assist in ensuring ISO 9001 re-certification and perform internal quality audits ensuring all projects compliance.
- Provide technical and functional support and assist in developing Quality Management Plans for the Projects as needed or as required by contract.
- Work in a multidisciplinary environment, actively communicating with the project’s personnel involved in the design, construction and quality of the works to resolve issues, identify needs and evaluate process improvements.
- Any other tasks as deemed necessary to fulfill the requirements and objectives of the Quality Manager role.
- Job Requirements:
- Required Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Science, or equivalent.
- Valuable ASQ certification and Professional Engineer licensure
- Preferred familiar with ISO 9001 Concepts
- Preferred related experience and/or extensive knowledge of heavy highway projects
- Valuable prior knowledge & experience with DOTs specifications and standards
- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries
- Excellent verbal and written communication and coordination skills
- Must possess strong attention to detail, be able to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Valuable computer skills and Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.
- Able to relocate in the future once a project is awarded.
Work Environment
- The job is mostly performed indoors in a traditional office setting.
- Occasional trips outside of the office may be required.
