Job summary

Ice Industries in Lacassine, LA seeks a Quality Line Auditor to ensure products meet required quality standards before release. You will inspect at the gauging station, perform inspections, and report defects to stop the line when immediate action is needed.

This on-site role requires reading and following written instructions, basic math for measurements, and clear communication with machine operators and quality teams during shifts, including weekends as needed.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Inspect products on the production line to ensure they meet required specifications and quality standards.
• Perform quality process inspections at the gauging station as instructed.
• Identify and report quality issues or defects and stop the line when immediate action is needed.
• Pull samples for FARO inspection.
• Inspect parts at the gauging station for specified dimensions and check for bow, camber, twist, and flair.
• Observe line parts for defects such as scratches, burrs, and incorrect cut length.
• Communicate with machine operators when adjustments are needed.
• Coordinate with line personnel to hold parts for Quality Review at machine events.
• Line stops for adjustments, line feeder faults, or caliper adjustments.
• Review parts held for quality review to determine acceptability or escalation to Quality Manager.
• Act as backup for Packers during breaks or absenteeism.
• Ensure packing supplies are available at the packing station.
• Perform other duties or projects to support the plant.

Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour

Shift Differential for 2nd and 3rd shift: Additional $2.00 per hour

2nd shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM

3rd shift: 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM

General Function: The quality line auditor is responsible for ensuring that products meet the required quality standards before they are released to the customer.

Job Duties

• Inspecting products on the production line to ensure they meet the required specifications and quality standards.
• Perform quality process inspections at the gauging station at required intervals following written instructions per the customers' requirements.
• Identifies and reports any quality issues or defects to production supervisors and management, stopping the line for quality issues requiring immediate attention
• Pulls samples for FARO inspection
• Inspects parts at the gauging station for specified dimensions and checks for bow, camber, twist, and flair.
• Watch parts at the line for physical defects such as scratches, burrs, cutoff length, etc.
• Communicate with the machine operator when adjustments are needed
• Communicate with appropriate line personnel when parts need to be held for Quality Review at various machine events:
• Line stops for adjustments
• Line feeder faults
• Adjustment to the cutoff press
• Adjustment for camber or bow
• Coil changes
• Review parts held in Quality Review to determine if they are acceptable or require escalation to the Quality Manager
• Acts as backup for the Packers during breaks or to cover absenteeism.
• Ensure that packing supplies are at the packing station.
• Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned, including projects or assignments to support the plant.

Working Conditions

• The Quality Line Auditor is a safety-sensitive position working directly with machinery and equipment. Frequent exposure to a non-climate-controlled manufacturing environment where ambient air temperature can occasionally exceed outside air temperature.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
• Must be able to bend at the waist and knees, walk, and stand for extended periods.
• Must grasp, hold, lift, and move objects weighing up to 20 pounds when necessary.
• Must be able to bend, stoop, crawl under or over, and frequently climb stairs.
• Must be available to work overtime, including weekends, to meet the organization's needs.

Required Education, Experience & Skills

• High School Diploma or equivalent education
• Ability to work with and communicate (verbal and written) effectively within all levels of the organization in English
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide inches and pounds using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to self-motivate, problem-solve, and work in a dynamic environment
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to complete written, oral, or diagram instructions.
