Job summary

Vactor Mfg. Inc., a Federal Signal Corporation subsidiary in Streator, IL, seeks a Quality/Manufacturing Leader to ensure test department products meet specifications and production schedules.

You will manage quality functions (test, auditors, warranty), develop defect-free procedures, implement ISO 9001 controls, and drive continuous improvement with lean methods. Salary range $95k-$115k plus benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of five years experience in manufacturing or engineering, mobile equipment.
• Experience with implementation of quality systems such as ISO 9001 and creating supporting documents.
• Experience with Continuous Improvement/Lean methodologies.
• Experience leading and managing projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Test department builds products to specification and on production schedule.
• Manage Quality functions (Test, Quality Auditors, Warranty) and related roles.
• Develop procedures to produce defect-free products.
• Implement process controls conforming to blueprints and engineering specs.
• Support management in achieving quality objectives and continuous improvement.
• Maintain Vactor Quality System and coordinate ISO:9000 activities.
• Collect and analyze quality data; support production and field service goals.
• Improve customer satisfaction through product/service quality.
• Implement supplier quality programs and verify supplier quality requirements.
• Control non-conforming material or processes and reduce waste.
• Conduct field and supplier audits to verify conformance and capability.
• Train and guide supervisors in continuous improvement initiatives.
