Job summary

Mars, Incorporated and its Affiliates is hiring a Raw Material Lab Technician to support site QFS by inspecting inbound materials, sampling, and conducting analytical testing to ensure quality. You will perform receiving activities, perform testing (ELISA, lateral flow, titration), and assist with investigations and audits.

The role requires a high school diploma with science background preferred, and willingness to work varied shifts in a GMP environment at our Ohio facility.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; science background preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and GMP environment preferred.
• Problem solving and systematic thinking.
• Strong communication and influencing skills.
• Demonstrated leadership and technical skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Analytical, troubleshooting and computer skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to FSSC/ISO22000, GMP/GHP, Mars standards and procedures.
• Follow factory safety rules.
• Carry out receiving activities (BOLs accuracy, docs, seal checks).
• Perform sampling and analytical testing (ELISA, lateral flow, titration).
• Perform ring tests/proficiency testing.
• Carry out first level maintenance on lab equipment.
• Conduct 5S housekeeping checks.
• Support lab/raw material investigations and root cause analysis.
• Ensure compliance with PRPs in the department.
• Complete all quality and food safety training.
• Maintain accuracy of laboratory records.
• Participate in internal and external audits.
• Escalate deviations to Lab Manager/Lab Coordinator/QFS Manager.
