Job summary

Leggett & Platt Flooring Products is seeking a QC/Lab Technician to oversee physical property testing across our production plants. You will coordinate monthly testing, apply ASTM protocols for density, thickness, tensile and CFD, and contribute to uptime and product quality.

In this role you will collaborate with Quality Managers to deliver results, implement corrective actions, and support binder studies with Brookfield viscosity for new products.

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are required.
• Ability to implement ASTM standard physical property testing protocols.
• Regular email communication with L&P managers.
• Commitment to safety and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate receiving and testing monthly physical property tests from six rebond carpet underlay plants and two densified prime plants.
• Apply ASTM testing protocols for density, thickness, tensile/elongation, CFD, and compression set; include viscosity and flammability tests as needed.
• Collaborate with Quality Managers to ensure timely delivery of test results for multiple products at each plant.
• Communicate results to quality managers and drive corrective actions for non-conforming products.
• Assist Divisional Technical Manager with rebond binder studies using Brookfield viscosity for new products.
• Champion safety, environmental, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform tasks assigned by supervisor.
