Job summary

Leggett & Platt Flooring Products in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a QC/Lab Technician to oversee physical property testing across our production plants. You will test densities, thickness, tensile properties, CFD, and other ASTM-based tests to ensure product quality.

You will coordinate testing, report results to quality managers, implement corrective actions, and support binder studies while championing safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience coordinating monthly physical property testing across multiple plants.
• Ability to implement ASTM standard physical property testing protocols.
• Strong communication with quality managers and timely reporting.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate receiving and testing monthly physical property testing from six rebond carpet underlay plants and two densified prime underlay plants.
• Use ASTM standard testing for density, thickness, tensile, elongation, CFD, and compression set; perform viscosity and flammability tests.
• Collaborate with Quality Managers to ensure timely delivery of results and institute corrective actions for non-conforming products.
• Work with the Divisional Technical Manager on rebond binder studies using Brookfield viscosity on new products.
• Champion safety, environmental, quality and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform tasks assigned by supervisor.
