Job summary

PFNonwovens Group in Hazleton, PA is seeking a Quality Lab Technician for a 9pm-9am on-site role. You will perform laboratory testing of products and support quality assurance across operations.

Responsibilities include following Work Instructions, verifying lab equipment, testing and inspecting production samples, recording results in the Quality Data System, and maintaining the lab. A high school diploma is required; candidates with manufacturing or quality experience are a plus. PPE required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications or similar programs.
• Math skills required; statistics knowledge a plus.
• Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, good verbal & written communication skills.
• Experience in Nonwovens Production or a Quality position a plus.

• Performs lab equipment verifications.
• Performs testing and visual inspection on production samples at specified sampling frequencies.
• Performs testing for Product Development trials as needed.
• Collects and saves retain samples according to defined frequency.
• Records quality records on approved forms.
• Enters required test results into the Quality Data System.
• Reports Rule Violations and Out of Spec test results to Operations Team Members in a timely manner.
• Completes Lab Requests as needed.
• Maintains the cleanliness and upkeep of the laboratory, including basic troubleshooting of laboratory equipment.
• Present summary of test results and rule violations during Gemba Walk.
• Assist in other laboratories as needed using test methods they are trained on.
• Completes all assigned training modules in LMS before the due date.

Purpose and role of job:

Noisy environment requiring hearing protection; manufacturing environment requiring safety shoes and safety glasses. Other PPE required based upon specific tasks. Onserves all safety rules and uses the proper safety equipment at all times.

Physical Requirements:

• Walk/stand 100% of time during a 12-hour shift.
• Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling and squatting throughout shift.
• Occasional reaching overhead during shift.
• Occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 lbs.
• Constant use of hands throughout shift for light and firm grasping
• Daily sweeping and organizing floor and work area.
• Balance required for some tasks.
