Job summary

Vesuvius USA is seeking a Lab Technician to support the Analytical Lab, ensuring safe operation and driving the plant's safety culture while delivering timely, accurate analyses.

You will perform chemical and physical tests, maintain and sanitize instruments, prepare samples, monitor product quality, and document results. A High School diploma or GED is required; 1–3 years lab experience and knowledge of chemistry are preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in a lab environment.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associate’s Degree in a related field preferred.
• Knowledge of chemistry and basic mathematics.
• Detail-oriented with strong observational and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical or physical laboratory tests to assist chemist in making qualitative or quantitative analyses of materials.
• Maintain, clean, or sterilize laboratory instruments or equipment.
• Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests, and analyses, using techniques such as grinding, cleaning of glasswork, and sample preparation.
• Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• Prepare chemical solutions for products or processes, following standardized formulas, or create experimental formulas.
• Evaluating information to determine compliance with standards — using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.
• Documenting/Recording Information
• Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person
