Vesuvius North America is seeking a Quality Lab Technician to support the Analytical Chemist and Chemist in sample preparation for analysis, including standard-making and instrumentation handling.

Responsibilities include conducting tests, preparing solutions, maintaining equipment, and ensuring product quality aligns with standards. The role emphasizes safety and accurate documentation in a largely indoor lab environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate’s Degree preferred.
• 1–3 years’ lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct chemical or physical tests to assist chemist in qualitative or quantitative analyses.
• Maintain, clean, or sterilize laboratory instruments or equipment.
• Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests, and analyses, using techniques such as grinding, cleaning of glasswork, and sample preparation.
• Monitor product quality to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
• Prepare chemical solutions for products or processes, following standardized formulas, or create experimental formulas.
• Documenting/recording information; communicating with supervisors, peers, or subordinates by telephone, written form, e-mail, or in person.
• Evaluating information to determine compliance with standards — using relevant information and individual judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws, regulations, or standards.

Quality Lab Technician

Purpose

• Timely, accurate, and precise chemical analysis

Key Result Areas
