Qualifications

• Associate degree or certification in a science-related field, preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience in a food manufacturing facility or laboratory environment.
• Able to perform hands-on laboratory testing and follow established specifications.
• Strong data interpretation and technical communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with ability to identify quality issues.
• Available to work Monday–Friday 6:00 AM–2:30 PM with overtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform sensory, analytical, chemical, microbiological, and physical testing on finished products and incoming ingredients.
• Conduct environmental swab testing and communicate results to the appropriate teams.
• Participate in daily plant inspections, process audits, and internal quality audits.
• Review test results against established specifications and identify products or materials that do not meet requirements.
• Investigate non-conformances, evaluate data, and help determine solutions.
• Assist with customer complaint investigations as needed.
• Perform laboratory equipment calibrations and routine maintenance.
• Maintain accurate testing, calibration, and quality documentation.
• Prepare and provide regular reports to Quality leadership.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality testing and programs.
• Assist the Quality Supervisor with additional quality-related responsibilities.

Kelly® is hiring a Laboratory Technician to support a leading manufacturer in the Human Nutrition & Health industry in Bridgeton, MO. This is a great opportunity for someone with laboratory, quality, or food manufacturing experience who enjoys hands‑on testing and working in a fast‑paced production environment.

What’s a typical day as a Laboratory Technician?

You’ll be responsible for supporting product quality and food safety by evaluating finished products and incoming ingredients. Responsibilities include:

• Performing sensory, analytical, chemical, microbiological, and physical testing on finished products and incoming ingredients
  
• Conducting environmental swab testing and communicating results to the appropriate teams
  
• Participating in daily plant inspections, process audits, and internal quality audits
  
• Reviewing test results against established specifications and identifying products or materials that do not meet requirements
  
• Investigating non-conformances, evaluating collected data, and helping determine appropriate solutions
  
• Assisting with customer complaint investigations as needed
  
• Performing laboratory equipment calibrations and routine maintenance according to established procedures
  
• Maintaining accurate testing, calibration, and quality documentation
  
• Preparing and providing regular reports to Quality leadership

This job might be afit if you:

• Have an Associate degree or certification in a science‑related field, preferred; OR
• Have at least 1–2 years of experience in a food manufacturing facility or laboratory environment
• Are comfortable performing hands‑on laboratory testing and following established specifications and procedures
• Can understand, organize, and interpret technical data
• Have strong written and verbal communication skills
• Have good interpersonal skills and can work effectively with production and quality teams
• Are detail‑oriented and able to identify and investigate quality issues
• Are available to work Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM–2:30 PM, with overtime as required by business needs
