Job summary

Solid Power, Inc. seeks a Laboratory Manager to lead analytical testing for solid-state electrolyte and battery cell pilot lines. You will oversee QA/QC, ensure regulatory compliance, and maintain testing protocols for raw materials, in-process, and finished materials.

The role requires strong leadership, planning, and cross-functional collaboration to improve workflow and method development. The ideal candidate will manage staff, schedule workloads, and drive health and safety initiatives while

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of laboratory experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Minimum of 4 years in a supervisory or management role.
• Experience with inorganic materials, ceramics or battery materials strongly preferred.
• Familiar with ISO9001, ISO 17025 quality systems.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of technicians, chemists and scientists.
• Oversee QA/QC within the laboratory and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Maintain high-quality testing protocols for materials across processes.
• Drive improvements in workflow, automation and method development.
• Schedule staff, order supplies, maintain health and safety protocols.
• Manage the laboratory's quality management system (QMS) and documentation.
